I did a search here and these guys didn't come up; I refuse to think I'm the only one who has heard them. Found the album on Amazon for 3.99, total blind buy after reading a couple reviews that compared them to other 80's hard rock acts. They're AMAZING. Very original and catchy as hell, bluesy, not poppy at all, kind of a cross between Great White and The Cult. Did some research--not much material available--and apparently they were a Sunset act during the late 80's and early 90's that still play there on occasion. Medusa Groove was their only album. It seems like it was self-produced and distributed as they didn't want label interference. In other words, they were content with being a local Sunset band. Interesting. Check it out:
Certainly worth the 3.99. Best blind purchase I've ever made.

Never heard of 'em but those 2 tracks sound great.

Awesome. Been listening to this while cleaning the house today; it really is solid the entire way through, not a single lull. Here's another one:
A little lighter, but still heavy, and...sax.

I definitely hear a Great White influence.

Well, shit. I'm just now reading the liner notes. Apparently this is a sort of "best of" with material they've recorded over the years culled into a single release. For instance, the first two tracks were cut in 88, the third in 89, the fourth in 90 and so fourth. But it's all previously unreleased; they never had an album.

All the better. That means this album should represent the best the band had to offer. The only downside to that is that it probably means the production varies from track to track unless the whole thing has been remixed/remastered.

That's the weird part; I think it has been remixed. The quality seems to stay consistent throughout. But I agree; this is a great way to handle an obscure band's past music for the first time.

I wish the Soho Roses had done the same thing.
That's another album by a band who never actually recorded a proper album but the thing wasn't remixed at all and it shows. Great glam/sleaze music but the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Just heard some samples on Amazon; I like! Very punky Hanoi Rocks kind of thing. You're right about the mix, but 23 tracks for 7.99 download ain't bad. I'm getting it.

Yup. In other words, right up the Toho alley!

Tell us tales, James. Were they good? It seems they were banned from the Whisky for some political stunt.
I'll be honest, I was expecting more people on this thread.

I don't remember much at all actually. The only reason I recall seeing them was twofold. The band name made me flash on the Maiden tune, "Charlotte The Harlot" and I was seeing this chick named Charlotte as well. I do remember that one show they played at was with a band that had the singer from Black n Blue and the guitar player from Warlock in it. Another show was with The Zeros. A band I liked cause they had fun with the image thing and didin't take themselves too serious. How could you take dudes with purple hair serious ? There were tons of bands playing everywhere all the time back then and it was hard to keep track of stuff. I always noticed that I'd see this guy in this bnad one wek and he'd be in another band a few weeks later.

I like what I heard in those clips posted. Definate Great White vibe going on. I could dig more of this if the price was right I suppose.

It's 3.99 on Amazon, free with prime shipping. Or you can get it used for a cent and pay 3.98 shipping. Either way, price is more than right .

Toho must've grabbed the last 1 cent copy. The lowest I see now is $2.60. Not gonna break the bank or anything, but I'm trying to not be so impulsive with my buying habbits these day. Notice I said trying.

I can understand that one. I just overspent my "allowance" for a CD I found for way too cheap to pass up.
Are you an Amazon Prime member?

Nah. I usually (about 99% of the time) buy used, so a free-shipping "prime membership" wouldn't do me any good.

There were a lot of bands back in that era that are now just being heard. That era was so over saturated with bands that style that it was hard to get signed. Eonian Records has done a good job getting some of them out on their label. NEH is a great place for a lot of those bands to buy from!

Appreciate this info. I had no idea this was Eonian's specialty. All sorts of goodies listed on their website.
