Soulfly - Enslaved

The drummer they had (David Kinkade) was excellent. The whole album is very heavy.

Both a wickedly heavy. Both have some cool riffs and song with solid hooks. I'm actually having a hard time choosing between the two. The Sepultura CD was stuck in my car CD player for months. Now the Soulfly CD has been on regular rotation in my car.

Went with Soulfly as there is less filler IMO... Songs like Redemption of man by God, Plata O Plomo and my fav CHAINS...

The Sepultura album is ok but the vocals just kill it for me sometimes.. Sounds like the man has a cold hahah!!!

Sepultura....definitely.

Close call but I went with Soulfly. Loved the new Sepultura too though, glad too see both bands going strong.

I like both, but went with Kairos. Mostly because it reminds me of Chaos A.D.

Soulfly over current Sepultura any day of the week!

Have you hard "Kairos" Thelmech?

I must admit that I have not heard Kairos but of the other "new" Sepultura I have heard I thought the hole left by Max was just too big and has not been adequately filled.

Soulfly on the other hand have matured well I think and I really like Max on vocals.

Soulfly! I think enslaved is killer

So far I only know and have heard Soulfly's Enslaved properly.

Up until last year I was only familiar with Against from the post-Max era of Sepultura so I haven't yet heard Kairos. However I must say, the quality of Soulfly's album has been on a gradual increase over the last half a decade or so (since Dark Ages).

Enslaved was a very good album - very aggressive sounding with elements of old school Sepultura. As a whole I still like Omen better than Enslaved but both are very good. I want to collect more of Soulfly's albums - maybe in the near future when I'm a bit more financially secure.

Enslaved is a bit heavier and diverse to me in its approach although I feel it's a bit long and a few less songs would have served it well, but it sounds the better of the two to me. I wish Kairos had not put those stupid 30 second interludes and that one industrial sounding track near the end because it is a great pounding album.
