Comments from Max:
Quote :
"Well, the next SOULFLY album is being mixed in England with Andy Sneap, and it's very heavy in its own way. In a SOULFLY way. It's still got craziness... I recorded a lot in Egypt this time. I spent some time in Cairo working with some Egyptian musicians and we came up with some really wicked interludes and passages. It sounds nothing like anything I ever done. Very very amazing Egyptian instruments. There is a song that is a colloboration with MORBID ANGEL's singer David Vincent which is one of my favourite songs forever in my whole life that I wrote. It's called 'Blood Fire War Hate' and that should be the opening of the album. It's very energizing, verrrry powerful, man. I can't wait for fans to hear it. It's the smurf poo. That one is gonna definitely create some chaos in the moshpit."

I've not heard any Soulfly since their first CD. I still have it, but haven't listened to it in years either. I just didn't care all that much for it. Have they changed styles? gotten better?

I think there releases have gotten better and the styles have def changed. The first 3 releases even though i think were good, were a little nu-metal. When Mark Rizzo came into the fold Max seemed to write more straight up metal songs. I'd start at Dark Ages which features some killer leads..

They seem to get heavier as they keep releasing albums. I really like Prophecy alot.

Holy crap! Conquer is AWESOME! Not even kidding. Max might have two albums in my top 5 of 2008. I just finished my second listen of this album, and it's just killer. Wow.

What's the profanity level at on this one?
No idea, but I noticed it. I'd say typical Max cussing.

The mindless "I Don't Giva F" stuff.
Yeah, with the occasionally "I don't give a sh*t." Haha. English cussing doesn't really mean the same to foreigners. They often abuse it. It's best when they use it in the wrong context.

I figured. From the few samples I heard, I could tell Max still hadn't opened a dictionary to substitute fornication under consent of kings.

Unless the person using them thinks they're tough because they're using such intelligent gutter slang. Calling someone a motherf*cker in a song is really cool.
