Cannot stand this band. Artsy, pretentious crap IMO. Add this one to the Toho List Of Band Hate somewhere in between Dave Matthews Band and Depeche Mode.

I bought the Radiohead album that had Creep on it (forget the name, Pablo something?) and that was the only song I liked. They've only gotten whinier and more annoying since in my book.

Er, that's a really brave move, it's a masterpiece for sure, but it's not the most accessible if you are just getting into the band, it's not the most accessible if you were previously a massive fan of the band, also it is very electronic. If you absolutely hate it, try OK Computer, The Bends or In Rainbows rather than giving up on the band.

The Bends. The Bends The Bends The Bends The Bends. One of the greatest rock records of the 90's. I've yet to grow tired of it. As for Pablo Honey, that's their weakest entry; Iron Lung on The Bends was written for how much Thom hated Creep because it gave them so much fame and became the one hit everyone loved. Great band, one of the first I believe to pioneer the "buy at your own price" releases, and very original. I understand not liking them from Kid A on, but for heaven's sake, do not forsake The Bends.
The Bends!

They get credited with being the first band to do it, but they were the first mainstream band. The first band to do it were Stuck Mojo.
Kind of like how Metallica are credited with being the first band to mix heavy metal with an orchestra (S&M), when it had already been done by probably at least a dozen other bands at that point.

I figured so, hence the "one of the first." I just remember everyone going crazy about it.
ME: "Dude, have you heard the new Radiohead album?" "No; is it any good?" "Yeah I guess whatever but go on their website because you can name your price and get it [i]for free.[i]" "...rad but you really haven't listened to it have you."
I recall that conversation, or some variation of it, happening on a weekly basis even months after the album's release.

God, this is awful. I'm not enjoying this at all. And I'm a lover of the first two albums. Glad it was half a buck.
Dude, that album is awesome! Easily their best. Sure, it's not full of the cotton-candy fluff the first two had, but it's an outstanding hard rock album. Songs like "Blind Revolution Mad," "Down Incognito," "Spell I'm Under," and "Junkyard Dog" are flawless.
I never really thought most of the first two albums fell into the cotton candy fluff category. Certainly "Seventeen" and "Headed for a Heartbreak" do...but a lot of the other tunes are heavier than they get credit for. And "Madelaine" is probably one of the better album openers from bands of that era.

I remember getting the cassette as a kid and popping it in for the first time. "Aw, man, acoustic guitar? What is this shi..." And then BOOM it just smacked me across the face. Yes, one of the best album openers.

Don't dump it yet, trust me it will hit you, its their best work.
I have a "Best of Winger" comp that opens with six or seven songs in a row off of Pull... and none of those songs do a thing for me either.
I understand that Pull was Kip's favorite Winger album and the work he's most proud of, but it still seems totally ass backwards to front-load a so-called "Greatest Hits" package with that many tracks from an album that maybe a dozen people bought (at most) when it was first released.
Actually, it doesn't seem ass backwards to me at all. Kind of smart...like, he know nobody bought the album, so there is not harm at all in trying to be like "hey, Greatest Hits guy, you need to hear these songs". Worst case is that still no one buys the album, and they just skip pas the Pull tracks to the hits they want to hear.
Best case scenario is Greatest Hits guy likes those songs, and is like why the hell did I never see these on Dial MTV back in the day? So he buys Pull. Even if it's a used cut out copy for 50 cents, Kip still gets the satisfaction of exposing his favorite work to someone who wants "Headed for a Heartbreak".

My "Best of Winger" collection would have 0 songs on it but would include a Kip Winger Dart Board for getting out aggression.

And my latest buy. After a bunch of listens on Spotify. Side note, I hate when I order a CD and it comes with the "Flashback!" spine, under the clear jewel tray. I hate the way that looks. I will just put a black tray in it and call it a day, but you know. Just felt like mentioning.

You and Lars Ulrich both. Wasn't it Kip Winger he was throwing darts at in one of their 90s videos...Nothing Else Matters maybe?

I hate that too, or the Metal Masters series. Next up is the Awesome Obsoletes or some shit like that.
I remember buying Holy Diver last year at Best Buy and the kid at the counter said "heyyy, you're into the oldies, yeah?" Gave him a silent death stare.

I would expect it to be. Haven't listened to the whole thing yet. That's typically the style, though, but they do mix in a little R&B and gospel and country from time to time. It's a nice diverse mix.
I think they're brilliant.

Made pilgrimage to the only CD store in the county- the legendary Wal-mart.
Black Sabbath-13 Brantley Gilbert- Halfway to Heaven DermaRest skin cream large block of swiss cheese small reading lamp sunflower seeds Armour potted meat (which is actually cat food flavored for people if you haven't had it)
sometimes there are some interesting things hidden in the racks. They had Derek and The Dominos for 9$, might grab that.
p.s- during last year's pilgrimage I bought a Radiohead album there! It was....Greatest hits! I do like one song.
