Gorguts' Obscura is actually quite a masterpiece. I must dig out my cd. Haven't played that one for a while!
I enjoy many of the fore mentioned/linked bands in this thread. A few hundred cds in my collection would fit the general description of death metal - anything from Metanoia to Bolt Thrower, Benediction to Death, Obituary, Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Crimson Thorn to Corpse, ... and heaps more.
