The sci fi discussion in the Rogue One thread made me decide to revisit some of my favorite science fiction stories/novels; stuff I was reading when the original Star Wars came out. I decided to start with this one by Harlan Ellison. It's my all time favorite story.

In this era of a dearth of interesting or new ideas coming out of Hollywood it's a total mystery to me why no one has made a movie out of this story yet. Unless Ellison is unwilling to sell the rights which is entirely possible because he's a crotchety sort.

Read a couple books since my last post in this thread. I read Wishful Drinking, by Carrie Fisher and The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, by Stephen king.

Currently reading The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three, by Stephen king.

This is the second time reading this amazing Series. Reading it again because they are making them into a movie, and tv series of some sort, so I wanted to get reacquainted with them. I also never read the book he release years later that fits in between parts IV and V, so figured it would be a good time to read the whole series again.

If you've never read them, you're missing out. One of my favorite set of books ever, and I'm not even a huge SK fan.

It's a pretty good read. This book also was supposedly an influence on Huxley's Brave New World and Orwell's 1984.
