Bought Tylers AND Perry's respective books. 4 bucks each ( free s/h) My immediate take - Perry's HB book is cooler - more clear thinking. Tyler's sc book is spaz - scatter brain babble- demented, in spots. The both say...how they're 'brothers'...etc...blah blah.... Perry's book is way more funnier - amusing - tougher and smoother - Tyler's is kinda boring, annoying - and ego driven for sure. Tyler really thinks he's up there with Plant/Page - Jagger/Richards - Perry is way more down to earth - calmer - more truthful.

I've been reading through Joseph Campbell's The Hero With a Thousand Faces, and it's super intriguing. And I recently bought a set of the 'trilogy' of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which I plan on diving into sometime soon. I'd only read the first one beforehand, and I loved it.

Over the weekend I started one called "Boffo! How Hollywood Learned to Love the Blockbuster and Fear the Bomb." I forget the author's name (and I don't have the book handy at the moment to look it up) but I believe he is a former editor of Variety magazine.

Cure of Ars - 'Sermons' - this Catholic guy St. John Vianney - was very tough - Many stories about - him vs devil - but his sermons - were very confronting - to the like warm eye rollers in the church - people poured into town to hear him -

Frank Herbert's Dune. I read it when I was a kid and was way too young to really understand it. I had a kind of residual memory of it being hard to read. I finally picked up a copy in a used bookstore and I am kicking myself that I haven't re-read it earlier. I will probably start looking for the rest of the original series. Can anyone give recommendations about the prequels written by Brian Herbert?
