I got rid of Neuromancer and never finished it because of Gibson's overly vague and implicit prose. You should check out Burning Chrome instead, if you haven't. It was his first short story collection based in the same world as Neuromancer and much better as it covered more ideas without the bullshit that Neuromancer had. Anyways, I'm reading the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, Japanese language stuff, and (trying) Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, but it seems to be much more sluggish than even The Hobbit, which I actually liked. I really enjoy reading, especially challenging material, but only if the material is very interesting to me personally. Finding so many books that are not for me and having come off a habit of reading in the past for all the wrong reasons has made me hate both fiction and non-fiction. Regardless of whether it's supposedly educational, it can only benefit as much as I'm willing to exercise the use of that knowledge or be projected into a field that demands it. I don't need books like The Diary of Anne Frank, The Souls of Black Folk, or even Wiesel's Night to tell me that racism and the holocaust are bad. Some thoughtful reflections throughout these otherwise boring books, but common sense and natural wisdom makes them a bit superfluous to me. I honest don't mess with fiction at all these days except video games and only the ones that aren't so invested in the story. I don't care for movies, television, novels, or cinematic games like Heavy Rain or Uncharted.

I think he needs to stop milking this Odd Thomas series and move on to something else.

| Newsflash: Saint Odd is the last book in the series. Reading it now. "Milking"? It was intended as a seven-novel series. Oddly enough (pun intended), SA is book seven. | |

| The Divine Comedy - by Dante - (1960's HB) with Dore drawings. I stopped reading, at one point, and listened to CHARON by Mercyful Fate and also - Running Wild's REALM OF SHADES - You do wonder if the book was made-up or a actual vision - by Dante.
Also, book of Isaiah / bible, OTbook - 66 chapters - Just as scary, in some parts.
