Just finished Peter Criss "From Make up to Break Up" After reading this and Ace's book, I don't really want to check out Gene or Paul's written offerings. So disappointed.

... a very cool, trivia-filled history of the Star Wars phenomenon - from its origins in a series of random sketches in George Lucas' film school notebooks to the bazillion-dollar cash cow that it is today.

I've read it before but for some reason I picked it up again.

I wouldn't be so hard on them just yet. I've read all four and I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle. By reading Ace and Peter's books (Peter's was probably the most unflattering of the four), you get this impression of "Yeah, we were as bad as they said we were; but dammit, they should take us back!" Read Gene and Paul's books and it's "They were that bad, why WOULD we take them back?"

I'm all for the original lineup, but after reading all four books, I don't blame Gene and Paul for sticking to their decision on that one at all.

Presently reading Dune: The Battle of Corrin. It's one of the prequels written by Frank Herbert's son. It's good. Not great, but good. Nice to get the backstory.

I am really enjoying the Scott Ian book. I don't really care who the first girl he felt up at summer camp was but it's cool to get the full story behind a lot of stuff ;like what really went down with Turbin and Lilker, how S.O.D. was formed, or what a particular song is really about.

I thought Pete's was good. Him talking about Ace putting a Penthouse magazine ( photo of naked girl on a window) across the hotel room and with a pair of binoculars - naked - lol -
But the major laughs were the shots at Paul and Gene - talking about 'their' major quirks...then finally calling them c**k S****ers ! Or Peter f***ing a chick looking exactly as him with make-up......and at the same time he's looking in the hotel mirror...and seeing that he was f***ng himself !!
