What book are you currently reading?

Started re-reading this one when I was on vacation...



Taking my time so it will last me through the rest of summer.

Almost done in Kartik B. Athreya's "Big Ideas in Macroeconomics," a non-technical (i.e. without equations/math) book on modern macroeconomics for people who aren't economists. With that said, I'm a grad student in economics and I still found it rather technical/difficult.

Next up is Dani Rodrik's "The Globalization Paradox."

I checked it out from the library, $25 for that thing. Wow!!

It's pretty decent. You get to meet a few collectors and read about some others...... Some of those guys are pretty wacky! I skipped over her attempted psychological analysis of people who collect. It just didn't interest me. Found some more music to look into though.

I collect 78s but not as much as some of these guys do. I don't have that kind of dough.

The Death of WCW - 10th Anniversary Edition by RD Reynolds and Bryan Alvarez - this is the new edition of this "classic" tale of how WCW crashed and burned. The authors have added at least 100 pages and it's still beyond hilarious. The new section on TNA actually had me weeping from laughter.

The Warhammer world is getting a big reboot and it looks like Gotrek & Felix are having their last hurrah. I will miss those guys as I've been reading about their exploits for almost 20 years.

Don't Ever Punch A Rockstar by Danny Marianino

I'm fairly new to the forum.  I read quite a lot.  

At the moment, I'm digging into 'Dawn of the Dead' (but not literally).  I've seen the movie loads of times, but, the book gives me a different perspective. I'm getting a slightly different version of what the movie 'could have' been.  It doesn't quite pick up on the nuances the book describes (quite rigid in comparison).

Before this, I was reading a collection of work by Edgar Allan Poe. It was a little dull for my taste.

Next, I thinking of reading a book on bare knuckle boxing.

"Life" by Keith Richards. Good read.

Rex Brown - Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera

I started on the book 'Knuckle' By James Quinn. This has a very, very dark start. If anyone is interested in the world of fights; boxing, MMA - this one for you! I actually felt quite uneasy on the train ride home going through the pages. Brilliant story so far.

It's about family fights. I'm sure my grandmothers side of the family had something to do with this from the stories she told me, but never told me the details so I would never be involved. A real eye opener.
