I don't mind Rocket Ride at all (I even like Trinidad ) even though it is a departure from the other releases I have of their's. I need to invest into the rest of their discography (oddlly I'm missing a few early ones and then their most recent 2).

I haven't picked up anything since Hellfire Club. That was an excellent album but I got satiated with the genre around that time I guess.
It was released prior to Rocket Ride, which from the comments on the thread seems like a good thing. Would it make a decent starting point for someone unfamiliar with the band?

I don't own anything by them but I spotify Edguy on occasion (being home and able to listen to music - Very occasionally). I usually go for Hellfire Club and Rocket Ride as I like both of those albums quite a bit.

Citanul, i'd say it's a decent comp, it will give you an idea of the early sound. The second disc seems interesting too with the live stuff and other goodies.

Thanks. Now I need to see if I can find it at a reasonable price.

It's actually my main source of Edguy music. While I should get more than just Theater Of Salvation, it has satisfied me and I listen to it more than any Edguy album I do have.

I am a recent fan of Edguy (actually got avantasia first). I have theater of salvation, mandrake, and hellfire club. Theater is my favorite and I like mandrake quite a bit. Hellfire is alright, but doesn't grab me nearly as much as the other two. I think they've been on a downward spiral lyrically since hellfire, as well.

New track:
Good song. Tobias's voice a bit weird, though.

Yeah what's going on with his vocal?? I actually needed the lyric video to decipher everything he was singing. It's not horrible (and the song is good) but odd.

Oh yeah, that is a good tune. I guess this is a return to their earlier sound compared to Tinnitus Sanctus and The Age Of The Joker (based on the reviews I've read).

Love that track but my only complaint is I wanted to hear that guitar riff around 2:54 with that great groove that followed with the bass and drums. Or end the song with it. That would of been epic!!

Very good song, but yeah, kinda hard to decipher what he's saying at times.

When did Biff Byford join Edguy?
Song itself is kind of.... like, I would listen to Sinbreed or something instead if I got in this mood.
Who knows what the whole 'Space Police' thing is about, that kind of schtick has been irritating to me for many records now.

Please don't let the vocals be like that on other songs.

New album is out next month.
I will buy it for sure. Edguy still rule even if their frontman has been busy with avantasia.

I might be the only one who didn't hear anything different with Tobias's vocals!!

Sounds great! A nice return for them. I like most of their stuff, but prefer the faster/harder stuff.

Nope. I didn't hear anything different either. Tobias' vocals have always been about 50% unintelligible to me and when I can understand what he's saying, it's usually stupid s**t like "alien drum bunny" anyway so who cares if you can understand what he's saying or not? And I think his voice sounds like typical Edguy material.

Can't disagree but this song sounds like he has more cotton in his mouth then usual.

I listened to this a few days ago. I noticed his voice was a little weird to, but only in the first half of the song and when he goes to hit that somewhat of a high note. I think its just a different vocal approach. it is weird tho. It kind of reminds me a little how I feel about King Diamond when he sings the first line on the album "Abigail", something just sounds different.
