| Viking announced that a 2 disc remastered version of Man of Straw and Do or Die was just released. It's called Metal Versus Straw and it's limited to 1000 copies. Man of Straw was originally issued on CD by Metal Blade and then was reissued by Lost & Found records a few years ago. Do or Die has never been officially released on CD. If you want one, you can get it here: http://shop.vikingthrashmetal.com/Metal-Versus-Straw-2-disc-CD-CD-MetalVersusStraw.htm

| I have Man of Straw as an MP3 album, but it'd be cool to have an actual disc. Do or Die is terrible, in my opinion, so I'm not worried about that one.
However, this package as a whole looks very cool. I dig that cover art.

| Hmmmm, might have to get this one. Viking is one of those bands that I never heard, but everyone talks about how great they were and how rare their albums are. I'm listening to some songs on YouTube right now and I like what I hear. - Quote :

I can only find one song from that one on-line, but I can certainly hear a difference. Way more raw and unpolished. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I don't know, maybe if they were a bit more polished, I'd dig those album songs more. When it comes to thrash, I just don't like a super raw sound. I don't like it to be polished to pristine shininess either--somewhere in the middle is ideal for me. They reached that sound balance on Man of Straw, for me.

| I hear what you're saying. I tend to dig my thrash on the more melodic side of things. If I do decide to get this re-issue though, it wouldn't surprise me if Man of Straw got more of my attention. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I think this would be great to get, especially since Do Or Die has never been officially released on cd before. I may have to pull the trigger on it. | |

| Maybe they can pull off a remastering miracle and make Do or Die listenable. | |

However, this package as a whole looks very cool. I dig that cover art. Eeeem, just to make it clear I posted the pic not so much to advertize it, but to make people aware it is a cardboard slipcase edition. If you only need Man of Straw I'd suggest to hunt down the Lost & Found re-issue - it is a regular jewel case with good booklet, remastered, and everything.

Actually, this release is remastered (both albums) and it's not a slipcase, it's a digipak.

However, Do or Die was never released officially on CD until now. Any CD pressing before now is a bootleg.

I've inquired already and was told they are Eco-wallets (aka slipcases). Those are not digipacks, but look more like this: or like this:

| Yeah, I own the Lost and Found re-release and have hard time replacing it with slipcase cd... I probably will bite the bullet and order it at some point, just need some time for my thrifty heart to get placated | |

In case the question above was for me, you should know that "Man of Straw" on Lost and Found Records is not a bootleg. It is also remastered, and comes nicely packaged with booklet and everything. Replacing it with a cardboard-wallet feels more like downgrading to me, but to each their own I guess.

| I was tempted to jump on this. But I paid a high price for my Lost & Found Man Of Straw. And don't I regret not jumping on those other Lost & Found releases when I had the chance. I downloaded Do Or Die from Itunes.
I love both records but not sure I need to double-dip for this release. Anyone who doesn't have these should jump all over of this.
