Are they that good of a band that they can afford all this downtime? No but their G N R royality checks and the fact that their record label dropped them gives a little bit more lesiure time.

The other night, I heard Duff McKagen (sp?) on Eddie Trunk's radio show promoting his cd with his band Loaded. And Slash is apparently working on a solo album. So like Manny said, with royalty checks coming in, side projects going on and no record label, it could be a long time before we see another VR record. Which I'm sure pleases alot of you humps. But hey, at least Limp Bizkut is getting back together to show these kids how it's done! _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I don't have a yey or nay opinion on Velvet Relover (VR is Vengeance Rising in my world). I just thought they would lose any momentum they may have had if they wait too much longer. |

| I predict there will be another VR album probably in about 2 years, on an indie label, no one will notice outside of die hard GNR fans, and then VR will split up.
Yes, I can see it now... | |

| I doubt that I could be wrong but I seriously doubt it. I wouldnt be surprised if sometime down the road that there was a reconcilation between Weiland and the band (mainly Sorum) | |

I wouldnt be surprised if sometime down the road that there was a reconcilation between Weiland and the band (mainly Sorum) You'll see a GnR Re-union before you see Scott Weiland back in VR. That dude's a serious head case who will probably OD before he gets back with Slash and those guys. Besides, he's working on a new album with STP. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Yeah and hes writing an autobiography and launching a clothing line, I dont think he'll OD anytime soon. He's not a head case he's bi-polar who doesnt medicate for it. I doubt we'll see a GNR Reunion anytime soon both Axl and Slash need to get their heads out of their asses and reconcile the past and move on, neither are really capable of that especially Axl. He's the head case, I think hes a great frontman and lyricist but he's nuts

| Here is an somewhat interesting story, regarding Shooter Jennings and VR: Country rock star Shooter Jennings has confirmed that he has been offered the job of singer with Velvet Revolver – but has turned the band down TWICE! Shooter, the son of country legend Waylon Jennings, was one of the men Classic Rock tipped as potential VR singers back in April last year. At that time Duff McKagan admitted that Jennings could make a good replacement: “Shooter’s great, actually,” he told CR’s Scott Rowley. “That’s a good idea. He’s does a southern rock thing, but his old band was straight up kinda rock. He’s a talented guy man, he’s pretty awesome. He would be good.” In a new interview with Classic Rock, Jennings confirms that he was asked – but turned the band down. And not just once. “They’ve asked me twice, dude,” Jennings told CR’s Henry Yates. “I’ve done a couple of shows with those guys, and they asked me a couple of years ago and they asked me again last year to be the singer. And it pained my heart not to say yes, because those guys are the best players in the world. They’re literally one of the best bands I’ve ever heard and to be able to sing with them has been amazing. But I had a talk with them about it, and I would absolutely still, to this day, get in a room and jam with them, but first of all, I knew I was gonna be doing another record and that what I wanted to do was really special to me, and I didn’t feel I could stifle that.” “I didn’t feel like my next step should to be to go from feeling like my back was broken by Nashville to stepping into the shoes of Scott Weiland and singing that stuff,” he continued. “I kinda said, if you wanna get together and do some stuff, that’d be fine, but I don’t know about me going out and singing those songs, and being the replacement for Scott Weiland, after Axl.” “You have to understand how big that is for me, because Guns N’ Roses was one of my favourite bands of all time,” Jennings continued. “I was six years old when Appetite For Destruction came out and it was the coolest thing. I never liked Bon Jovi. I never liked hair metal. I never liked any of that. When I heard Guns N’ Roses, it was dangerous and it was mean, and that was why I wanted to move to LA. I wanted to be Axl stepping off the bus with the hayseed in his mouth.” “Duff, Slash, Matt and Dave have all become good friends and it’s no disrespect to them, but I just felt like it wasn’t my time to do that, y’know? For all the money it probably would have brought…” Velvet Revolver have also been in the news of late as both Gord Prior of Canadian band Blu Bones and Tony Montana leaked their Velvet Revolver auditions onto the web. | |

| SLASH Issues Solo Album Update, Says VELVET REVOLVER Is Still Searching For Singer - Apr. 1, 2009 |
| Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has commenced recording his debut solo album with Josh Freese (A PERFECT CIRCLE, NINE INCH NAILS) on drums, Chris Chaney (JANE'S ADDICTION) on bass, and Eric Valentine (SMASH MOUTH, THIRD EYE BLIND, GOOD CHARLOTTE) in the producer's chair. Slash says, "Things are going fantastic in the studio, Josh Freese and Chris Chaney are one hell of a rhythm machine and the guitar sound is FAT! smurfing Awesome Tone! All is going perfect so far. We start recording vocals today and I'm really excited about working with this particular individual; it's going to be quite an event."
According to Slash, VELVET REVOLVER is still searching for a replacement for singer Scott Weiland, who was dismissed last April. He says, "There was a lot of talk about our announcing a new singer in March but it obviously didn't happen. We had somebody that we thought was a really good candidate, but it just wasn't meant to be. So, we're still looking. [As for possible VELVET REVOLVER live shows], of course VR is going to tour again, we just have to find the right person to front the band. We have a bunch of new material and we're all anxious to get going, but the key ingredient for a rock n' roll band such as VR is an amazing frontman, and we haven't found the right man for the job, yet."
Regarding which singers will guest on his upcoming CD, Slash previously said, "Unfortunately, I can't divulge that info yet, but you'll know soon enough. I will say, however, that they are fantastically talented songwriters who it's been an honor to work and write with, to say the least."
Slash's wife Perla Hudson said in a video interview at Rockerrazzi.com that both Ozzy Osbourne and Fergie will make guest appearances on her husband's upcoming solo album.
Slash will be joined by BLACK SABBATH legend Ozzy Osbourne for the axeman's headlining appearance at this year's edition of the Quart festival, set to take place June 30 - July 4, 2009 in Kristiansand, Norway. Slash will perform a mixture of old and new material on the festival's opening day.
Slash previously played with Ozzy at the 77th Royal Variety Performance in November 2005 in Cardiff. They performed a version of THE BEATLES classic "In My Life", with family photographs projected onto the background of the stage.
Slash left GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'90s, forming SLASH'S SNAKEPIT before later assembling VELVET REVOLVER with several other ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland.

"STILL PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THAT CALL....." Funny. Personally, I think that would be a great band, but VR already struggles enough with the "80s" tag. A Bach-fronted VR would be the kiss of death for decent touring slots and radio play.

| I'd love Bach in that role. How can a band like Riot find like 50 good singers but VR can't? |
