| Sonic Temple gets the most plays from me. But, I have always thought Electric was a more Original/groundbreaking album. I choose Electric on that opinion only. Listening to Fire Woman right now just to confuse myself further.

| Sonic Temple was my introduction to the band, so that one gets the nod. When these guys are firing on all cylinders, they are untouchable. Seen 'em in the live setting too and they were awesome. Unfortunatlely, I've always felt that their albums are kind of hit-and-miss. I'm not familair with the Southern Death Cult pre-Love era.
Love - ok. Something interesting going on, but not quite gelled Electric and Sonic Temple - creative peak., top of their game Ceremony - pretty good, but starting to show chinks in the armor The Cult (or Ram) - dull as dishwater Beyond Good & Evil - MONSTER comeback, just awesome Born Into This - the sequel to dull dishwater Choice of Weapon - the jury is still out on this one. Initial reaction is it's pretty darn good. Time will tell if it holds up
I should re-invest in Love, Ceremony and the s/t discs. I had them all at one point, then ditched them. I sometimes think I want them again, then other times, not. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I like Sonic Temple, didn't care for Electric (didn't really like what Rubin was trying to do to one of my favorite bands). Love is the best album by far for me, an absolute classic that still gets heavy rotation on my playlist. After that album was when they started to change to try and break in the colonies, by opinions here, it worked too. | |

| Electric by a wide margin, the rawness is just what that band needed. Sonic Temple just didn't have the same impact once things got all polished up.

| Beyond Good and Evil for me. I'd all but given up on the band until this one came out. Now I've given up again. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| How many of you have the Rare Cult boxset? There's some really interesting stuff on there, like the Peace sessions, which was recorded (and scrapped) before Electric and features most of the same songs, with very different production.
Unfortunately, this boxset now costs an arm and a leg. I bought it at a used shop years ago before the price skyrocketed.

Have you heard their latest, Choice of Weapon? It's pretty good. Maybe not quite a classic, but miles better than Born Into This. It doesn't sound forced or labored, just doing what they do best. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I'd go with Love as my "best" pick. Although I'm starting to really get a love for that Southern Death Cult release.
I thought Choice Of Weapon was a really strong record and one of my favorites for last year.

Yep. Downloaded it legally. It's better than Born Into This but still not something I really like. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| It was better but only compared to the turd that was Born Into This. Even the cover of Born was well, bad. | |

True. After Born Into This, an album full of fart noises would have sounded like a symphony in comparrison. They had nowhere to go but up with Choice of Weapon. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. and depending on my mood, Dreamtime will get a lot of play. I like the vibe on that album.
