At this point, I will take any BC music in the format that I can get it, even if that means that I DL it and rip it to a CD. I would prefer the physical format, but if the band doesn't go that way then I will still pay for it.

On the subject of asking for $$ to fund the product then get out, play some shows, release some merch, and in general, do band-y type stuff. I have never seen BC live but I would love to.

I lost most of my enthusiasm for new BC music when I heard that new song they were playing live. That was pretty awful.

The thing about DL ing is that there is a possibility of your storage/playing devices crashing and loosing what you only have in that format. So ya have to buy it again. I understand you can back stuff up externally. Sometimes things happen before you have the oppurtunity to do so.

In regards to BC songs and strippers....could make the mind roam somewhat the next time ya hear "imaginary music" ?

I could see "Love At Full Volume" being a "strip club" song... Very Happy

There is also a possibility that your apartment/house can burn down and destroy all your LPs and CDs, often before you've had a chance to archive them in digital format. They can also be stolen. Then you have to buy them all again.

For digital collections you should always have two backups of everything, and one of those backups should be located offsite from where you live, the safest place is a safety deposit box at a bank because they are fireproof.

Or just back it up to one of the many cloud based services like google play or amazon.

Damn straight.

I prefer CDs as my medium and will put my money behind bands that cater to my tastes.

If my house burns down to the ground, my cd collection is the least of my worries. Computer crashes however, are pretty much a daily concern for me in my line of work.

I'll stick with my physical formats until I no longer can. I have no need to go digital.

By the way Rattle Your Cage has been reissued and remastered with new artwork as a digital only download on iTunes and Amazon. The remaster sounds awesome but the first 5 seconds of Here I Am is chopped.

The original sounded pretty good IMO. I'll have to check it out. Not cool about the 1st 5 seconds chopped off from Here I Am; that is a great Steve Whitaker penned song

i have to say though i just converted all my helloween albums to mp3 and having all the bonus tracks together is pretty cool, instead of having to pull out each Gambling with the Devil cd to listen to the extra tracks.

Yall are way too old fashion, whether you guys like it or not CDs will become like Vinyl is open to a select market, we live in the digital age of right now meaning instant access etc.....

While BC was a band I liked in my youth I have lost interest unless this new stuff sounds decent but im not in a position to donate financially hell I can barely make my own ends meet.

I like both digital and physical copy but I wont let one trump the other

my 2 cents

who is to say that they arent paying out of their own pocket maybe its just not enough it does happen ya know

Nothin wrong with being old fashioned. Just because the sheep flock to a new technology doesn't mean you need to. Instant access is nice but for collectors there is the thrill of the hunt and the excitement of anticipation that is stolen by downloading. If that's what you want? Fine, do what you want to do. I however, want to continue my collection and if I'm of a very few that's doing that, then so be it.

You don't have to buy again. iTunes and Amazon "remember" your purchases and if you lose a song you can download it again for free. I discovered this option when I accidentally deleted a few songs. Went into "downloads" on iTunes and everything I ever bought over the past 6 years was there.

For the "sheep" comment:
Barren Cross Info - Page 2 Tong1

You're right....nothing wrong w/ being a collector, or old fashioned, or whatever. But there's also nothing wrong with condensing one's music library to a different format for the sake of convenience, space, and portability.

Someone on another board put it a way I like: Some albums/bands I want to collect...some I just want to listen to. Personally, I still buy/have CDs...but only for specific bands and band-lineages. Everything else is ripped to my 1TB hard drive and was sold off...when I want to hear it, I dial it up.

I never said it was a bad thing, not to mention "Flocking" to a new technology is like you flocking to a band because you think its actually good. Not too much of a difference

I like the idea of having my library assesable on digital format as I use my phone as a mp3 player as well its very convient and a major space saver as I dont have room to store my 800 + CDs I own right now. All are in storage. Not doing me an ounce of good there...

About the comment of buying it again, ever hear of something called a "Back Up" Just like your data on your computer you save it to a place so if something does go awry you still have it. My Mp3 library I have been cumulating since 2001 and I have never lost a single MP3 in the 12 years Ive been assembling my library.

Just to clarify, the comment about buying it again was not mine. Since I put all my CDs on my computer, I know the importance of having back-up. The flock of sheep comment was more tongue-in-cheek than anything. If I had the finances I'd flock to the newest tech myself. As it is I have to make do with my 7 year old computer, 2 year old laptop, prepaid cell phone, and DVD/VCR player.
