Can't speak for the soundtrack, but that was a great movie. I just watched it again not too long ago on cable and it holds up pretty nicely. Filmed in my town too.

Nice.
AF and SOIA were two of the most fun bands live. I only saw them in the 90s, but can't imagine the fun-ness of seeing them in the 80s.
The last time I saw AF, though, I ran to the bathroom while they were setting up. All of a sudden from the bathroom I heard "Victim in Pain" start, which is my favorite jam. Of course the song is so damn short that by the time I got back to the front, it was already ending.
I need to dig up some of that stuff. I haven't heard it in years.

I messed up thinking the singer from Roxy Blue went on to play with MSG, but it was dude from Baton Rouge.
Anyways, I was given a Poorboys CD today.

That's a good one. Has an early Black Crowes vibe to it.

Nice. They got tossed to the side as a throwaway band way too often. I like their singles and radio hits, but they had some great tunes that rarely (or never) get any play at all. And some of them, the boys wrote themselves.

Some recent additions...
Cathedral - Forest Of Equilibrium Communic - The Bottom Deep Wes Montgomery - The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery Night Horse - The Dark Won't Hide You Riverside - Shrine of New Generation Slaves
That Cathedral album finally(!) completes their discography for me until their final album comes out in April. And the new Riverside is my first 2013 release. Been a slow year for me so far.

I agree, those albums had some great deep cuts and not only the Monkees themselves played them but some great session musicians

Curious to hear what you think of that PC69. At first I thought it was a big step up from the last couple but I spun it again today and now I'm not so sure. It's still decent but I don't know if it's any better than any of their other recent output.

I think so. Aren't they an Aussie band with an AC/DC influence?

That does sound like Seger. I just checked the vault (twice!) and I didn't find anything by them. I'm sure I have something by Cold Chisel; must be on some comp.

Citanul turned me on to them from the comp swap. I figured the best of was a great place to start.

I'm still not convinced I don't have that Best Of. The cover looks familiar. Looks like I'm going to have to scour the premises to make sure I don't have it.

Yeah well, at least I'm willing to morph my opinions beyond "killer!" It's weird and I can't really explain it. Maybe it's because I went from listening to some more "challenging music" (for me anyway) like Von Grey and back to my "happy place" with PC69. But other than the songs that struck me the first time I listened to the album, this time the rest sounded like filler.
