NEWSTED - New Jason Newsted Band Project

The official video for the track was filmed on Saturday, December 15.

"Soldierhead" comes off NEWSTED's four-song EP, entitled "Metal", which will be released exclusively via iTunes on January 8, 2013. Pre-orders begin today (Tuesday, December 18).

"Metal" will contain the following tracks:

* Soldierhead
* Godsnake
* King Of The Underdogs
* Skyscraper

By purchasing all four songs, you will receive a copy of Jason's handwritten lyrics.

Kind of a Testament sound going on, pretty good.

I didn't post the entire interview, but he had mentioned that he liked the idea that Down was releasing 4 seperate eps, each done in a different style. Maybe he'll do the same thing.

I hate that idea.

Really good tune! Terrible production, though. And this is the best vocal work I've ever heard from Newsted.

I am interested in getting this. But I wish the band was called something other than Newsted.

I get the name recognition thing and what not. But I really hate when bands are just called the dude's name. Except Van Halen. Ha.

I hate it even more when bands are called common words. Especially when they have a self-titled release. Makes them a b*tch to look up online especially if they aren't a real well known band.

Found an example just today. I got a CD from a band called California and the album was also California. Finding an image of it on google images was damn near impossible.

Anyone pick this up? Or download it, I should say. If not, you should. It's excellent. It's a shame it's just a digital thing right now; I'd love a physical copy.

Anyway, great little EP. It's like Motorhead meets Down meets latter-day Corrosion of Conformity.
