Yeah I thought that transfer was pretty amazing. Evil Dead II looks real good as well. Now if they could only do something with the Army Of Darkness one.

great TV there my friend, just missin some Taxi, Welcome Back Carter, and Chico & The Man
Don't forget to throw in some What's Happening also. Such great shows. Wish they still made them like that. I'd probably watch tv on regular basis if they did.

I watched "The Thing" remake. Or prequel as it were.
Meh. Added nothing that John Carpenter's version didn't do better anyway. And the lead chick was no match to the awesomeness that is Kurt Russell.

My favorite scene is with supposedly catatonic Grandpa:
The new "loose remake" "Silent Night" includes a scene that's a nod to this one, as well as a couple of other references to the "old" film(s).

Animal Cops Detroit
I think there is a special place in Hell for dog fighters. There were some kids who put rubber bands on a pit bull's ears and hacked them off with scissors. They then kidnaped a stray puppy and used it for bait. All common practices used for dog fighting. All dogs used this way cannot be put up for adoption when rescued and have to be put to sleep.

I work with a guy who runs a pitbull rescue group; in fact he is the consultant the Humane Society of Missouri brings in to temperament-test the dogs whenever there's a major dog fighting bust. Dogs used in dog fighting must be carefully evaluated but many can and do become beloved family pets. I had the privilege of meeting Fay, a dog from a dogfighting ring who had her lips cut off by her "owner" because they'd been shredded in a fight and he didn't want the opponent to have them to grab onto in her next fight. Fay was covered with scars and "snuffled" a lot because of not having lips but all she wanted to do was be petted. Her tail never stopped wagging. Unfortunately Fay passed on during one of multiple surgeries to try to create lips for her but that dog was a testament to the forgiving nature of animals.

Oh, no doubt some of them can be rehabillitated, but because the majority can't do to being unpredictable and because the cost of rehabillitating the ones that can is so high, the city of Detroit (where the show is set in and where dog fighting is rampant) has all pitbulls put to sleep no exceptions.

Detroit is probably a BSL city (Breed Specific Legislation) where any pitbull, rottweiler or other "bully breed" that is rounded up is automatically put down. Animals are like people; regardless of their backgrounds they should be evaluated on an individual basis.
EDIT: Can you tell we talk about this a lot at work?

You're probably right because they do evaluate indidual dogs when they're not pits.

"Superman: Doomsday" (2007)
Animated flick loosely based on 1994's classic "Death of Superman" comic story sees the "Big Red S" apparently killed during a knock down, drag out battle with an unstoppable alien assassin known as "Doomsday." Naturally, Earth mourns the loss of their greatest hero.... until he suddenly reappears. However, Lois Lane quickly suspects that this miraculous "resurrection" isn't quite what it seems to be.
This was the debut feature of the "DC Animated Universe" line of videos and it's fun, action packed stuff. Be warned, however, that the intense level of violence makes it unsuitable viewing for the smaller young'uns.

I watched the season finale of "Ink Master" last evening (it was a re-run form a few days before that I missed)
The three finalists got free reign to do whatever they chose, the usual premise was a set up scenario with time limitations. I'd expected a bit better work than what they presented. The dude that won did the better of the three in this scenario. Though I did think the Betty was better overall throughout the season.
I could def live without the over dramatized fake B/S between challenges, still a fun way to waste time.
