Bands like late 80s/early 90s Queensryche and Fates Warning

So, I'm familiar with a lot of bands that have a similar sound to the early works of both bands - such as Heir Apparent, Crimson Glory or Lethal, just to name a few.
However, I've been enjoying Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime and Empire albums lately, as well as Fates Warning's first three albums with Ray Alder.
So I was wondering, are there any other bands in this vein? I.E., melodic, progressive and somewhat commercial heavy metal with clean vocals that also comes close to hard rock at times?
