Blaspheme's Desir de vampyr is much better than the debut as well.

Cirith Ungol's King of the Dead is way better than Frost and Fire.

I don't know if this one "kicks the crap out" of its successor, but I enjoy Vektor's Outer Isolation more than Black Future.

I totally agree. The first W.A.S.P. album is my favorite W.A.S.P. album. Actually, it may be one of my top 10 (or 20) albums of all time.

Also... I know it may be sacrilegious to some, but I may actually prefer Hotter than Hell over the first KISS album.

I really dont understand how sophomore albums by bands such as King Diamond, Metal Church, Hammerfall, WASP (!), SAVATAGE (!!), Frobidden, HELLOWEEN (!!!) and so on can be even considered to be kicking out the crap of their debut albums?

I mean, seriously, to say that WASP 1984 is crap compared to "Last Command"... man, there is something wrong with the world today!

Aside from some that were already mentioned, the only band I can come up with off the top of my head is Cinderella. Their Long Cold Winter album smokes the Night Songs debut.

There's absolutly nothing wrong with me. I said Abigail, Keeper, and Legacy Of Kings' smoke the debuts because for me it is true. To go a little further, I think Keeper Pt. 2 blows the Pt. 1 out of the water. If you think the debuts are better, good for you. However, your opinion doesn't reign supreme.

If we're talking Helloween I think Keeper 1 is about on the same level as 'Walls of Jericho'. Keeper 2 ... that's a drop off.
