I've watched the new trailer several times already. Force awakens is going to kick ass.

This is nicely done. It's a supercut of all the released footage from the 3 trailers (plus some footage shown only at Comic-Con) assembled into a new 3:40 trailer.

Those of us who are 'that' age (most of us) feel the excited child rising to the surface at these trailers. Can't wait!

I'm pretty excited about seeing this in theaters when its out, considering Star Wars (the original) is my earliest movie memory I have as a child and also the fact I haven't gone into a movie theater to see a new release in probably 6 years. Yeah, hyper stoked on this.
I wonder if the new films are going to follow any sort of canon to the post return of the jedi book series?

I have stopped watching the trailers and am ready to go! We bought our tickets early for the Saturday Dec 19th showing at 10 AM (2D, my wife doesn't like 3D movies). My daughter is going on opening day. Her school booked the theater opening day for A/B honor roll. can't wait!!!

Not a chance in hell I'll even attempt to see this on opening weekend. I'm not that big of a glutton for punishment. I'll wait a couple weeks and then hit a quiet Sunday morning matinee where there's usually less than 10 people regardless of how big the movie is.

The movie opens on the 16th in South Africa, as a result of that day being a public holiday. I bought my ticket about six weeks ago.

That's how I feel but I know the internet is going to be plastered with spoilers so may as well go see it opening week.

I never even saw Episode III...
Episode I sucked. Episode II sucked. Skipped III completely.
I absolutely loved the original Star Wars trilogy though. Still do.
I also got burnt off on movies and stopped liking watching them. I prefer books nowadays. If I watch TV, it's sports or news. We do subscribe to some online movie thingies, but it's the wife watching them exclusively. I haven't seen a movie in... hmm, I wanted to say years, but well I think it was last year when we went to see that sci-fi movie about gravity and time travel and dystopia and all that. Interstellar? Before that the last movie I saw must have been that Alien prequel.
No movies at home for me. Only MUSIC, hockey and maybe Game of Thrones, pretty much.

Well, it won't be opening day. I'll be taking my son to see it on the 19th. Decided I couldn't be bothered fighting through the hordes of fanboys...
I haven't felt such a wave of nostalgia like this in a very long time. I was a wee kid when my dad took me to see Return of the Jedi. I wasn't this stoked when Episode I came out (thankfully). I just hope I'm not building this up in my head too much.

Amy Poehler was on the Tonight Show last night to pimp her new movie "Sisters," which is opening on the same day as "Force Awakens." She said something to the effect of "Yeah, everybody come out and see it, there'll be plenty of tickets available." Hahaha
Seriously, opening anything on the same weekend as "Star Wars" is a suicide mission, even if it's a chick flick like "Sisters" or a kid movie like that new "Chipmunks" (also coming out the 18th). There's no point in trying to "counter-program" against something like that!

As much as I'd love to see it on the first day of release, I know that's not realistic. I'm off between Christmas & New Year's so I'll most likely wait till then, which crowd-wise, probably won't be much better. I'll just have to wear a cone of silence until then.

Barbara Vancheri of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette gives it 3and a half out of 4 stars in a spoiler free review. This really has me pumped about it.
