I was gonna say Whitesnake, Deep Purple, and the Coverdale/Page album.
Slaughter's last couple of albums are an awesome hard/bluesy rock. Also Greg Chaisson and Rex Carrol's solo albums are monster blues rockers. Dave Meniketti put out a couple of great albums and Die Happy's VOL II.

You should check out Voodoo Circle's, Broken Heart Syndrome album. Kind of a classic Whitesnake sound at times.

Law and Order is one of my favorites, 2 really good discs put out by those guys.

I really like Danzig myself. Haven't really explored Blues based Metal outside of his stuff though, and I would only really call his first album and latest album Blues based.

yeah, I was sort of wondering what exactly the early stuff would be called if not literally blues-infused heavy metal and why it would be bad to mention.
