L.A. Guns - Rips The Covers Off (w/Bonus Tracks) What are the bonus tracks? Are you talking about the live tracks at the end? That's the version I have. I didn't know they were a bonus to anything. Does a version exist without those tracks? Yeah, live tracks. It lists them as bonus tracks, so that's why I wrote it. I'm sure they're listed as bonus tracks on mine too. I just wonder what exactly are they "bonus" to? You don't get them on the 8-track or cassette version? If anything, they kind of disrupt the flow of the album. It's all studio cover tunes, them *BAM* a few live tracks of LA Guns tunes from out of nowhere. I dunno, I probably could've lived without 'em. Either way, it's a decent album. Way better than their other covers album, Covered in Guns. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | These days *bonus* can also mean "not from the same recording sessions*, thus you'll see demos and live tracks listed as bonus tracks.

So in other words, it's just record label spin doctoring. Anything to get people to buy (or in most cases re-buy) the same product again and again. F**kers. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| It gets annoying. Look at the new Witchcraft release for example.
There is the CD version. Then there is the iTunes version with a bonus track. Then there is the 7' inch vinyl single with a different bonus track (also available from iTunes).
So to get it all you have to buy the CD, the iTunes album, the iTunes single...or the "bundle" to get it all together in one place.
This all reeks of record label shenanigans, most likely written into the contracts.

Yea, I've noticed that to be a more common occurance these days with new releases. The last Alice Cooper album was a big offender in that regard. There was like 5 or 6 different versions released (standard, deluxe, Best Buy, itunes, etc.), all with differnet bonus tracks. The record companies think they're gonna sell more, but in reality it probably just encourages more illegal downloads. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. This all reeks of record label shenanigans, most likely written into the contracts. Par for the course with them. I'll buy the 7" single, but no way will I buy an entire digital album. I have no issues buying a single bonus track for a buck, though.

| Felt a little down after finding out I've lost contact with my only friend (his phone was answered by someone claiming he was not at the number I have). To cheer me up I stopped by my regular used CD haunt and found some good stuff (one which was free): $14.95 $9.95 $7.95 | |

Never heard of them til I saw it there. Knowing good things come from Inside Out I picked it up and sampled some of the music. Some great prog from what little I heard. After looking through Amazon, it looks like I paid a bit too much for the first two. I guess that's the gamble you take with used CD stores. However, if what I sampled is any indication of the quality of the rest of the music, I don't mind.

Killer all the way through, IMO. And although I haven't heard that specific Devin Townsend album, I'd venture to say it's very good. I haven't heard a bad album from him yet.

Well, the real selling point for me (besides the fact that DT albums are very rare to find used) is the prescence of Anneke. Her voice is so damn mezmerising.

Same here! I was bummed when they said that there was a delay at the vinyl plant.

I love this whole record...it's hard to believe it was such a flop in the US. I guess the backlash from Unmasked and The Elder was pretty tough... _________________ FINAL SIGN
