I enjoyed it but in retrospect there are a lot of plot holes in it and just plain stupid actions by supposed "scientists". I guess the thing that bugs me the most is that I have no idea why the android infected the one scientist with alien DNA. What was that supposed to accomplish, the birth of the alien/human hybrid? To what end?
I'd really like to know how the two guys got lost in the Alien structure since they had "mapping balls", maps, motion detectors and were in constant contact with their ship. Plot device needed...no logic used.

That's probably my main complaint about the film in general. Lack of logic. I lost track of how many times any normal quarantine protocol was violated, starting with removing your helmet because your instruments say the air is good to constantly touching alien items and secretions to opening your ship up to anyone who knocks. And don't get me started on the experiments on the decapitated alien head...

It had been ages since I'd seen it. I remember it being pretty decent and this 2nd viewing did not disappoint.

Finally saw LOOPER last night and loved it. Intelligent sci-fi/film noir, expertly acted and directed. This film comes closer to attaining a "Phillip K. Dick" vibe than most of the movies adapted from his work.
Director Rian Johnson also helmed the unfortunately ignored "The Brothers Bloom" from a couple years ago that I enjoyed very much.

On the list it goes. You and I seem to have very similar tastes in sci-fi movies.

Haven't watched much of anything due to the extended power outage (curse you Hurricane Sandy!) but yesterday the wife and I went to her Dad's house (he got his power back the day before) to do some laundry and we were able to On Demand this past Sunday's "Walking Dead" - holy crapamoley, what an ending!!

Caught this documentary the other night on Showtime...
(I can't find a trailer for it)
16 actors whose faces you know, if not the name, are interviewed about being "that guy" in movies. Interesting, if a bit self-indulgent.
