National Socialist Black Metal - who listens to it?

I despise the genre's philosophy so NSBM is a big no-no for me, but some people claim they don't mind listening to such things as long as the music is 'good'. So who here actually listens to this?

...and my answer would be a resounding "nein". I'm not a fan of black metal, so there's that. But even if it was a stoner band singing about evil Jews or how whitey will overcome all, I'd probably have to pass.

Not into Black Metal in any way, shape or form, aside from making fun of the ridiculous band photos.

Black metal is horrible to me to begin with;throw in stupid nazi lyrics and you defintiely have an avoidance by me.

i don't seek it out specifically, but i have a bit of it in my collection. some of it is quite good. i look at it the same way i look at christian metal.

I don't listen to it.

I'm not into much that can be considered black metal to begin with. However, throw in Nazi/white supremacist lyrics (an automatic no-no for me) and you have something I avoid like the plague.

Love black metal. Don't have to agree with absolutely every opinion presented in whatever type of music as long as there is something relatable there for me, but sometimes the entire package is idiocy, so, no NSBM for me.

I don't care much for lyrics, so black metal is no different. There is some BM I like, and some BM I don't like. Just like every genre I enjoy.

I like some black metal, and I'm willing to overlook a lot when it comes to lyrics, but nah, I draw the line at racist / Nazi garbage.

I have some stuff like this in my collection too, and also some NS thrash metal bands like BATALLON DE CASTIGO. I dont care what a band sings about, if the music is good, i like it. Thats why i dont mind to listen to christian metal bands or satanic metal bands.

I was at a flea market once and a dude was selling a bunch of this - along with some white power punk. The only band I'd heard of that he had was Screwdriver. I was curious and the guy swore he didn't ascribe to any of the beliefs, but in the end I just couldn't justify even a cheap blind purchase. Religion, politics, and sex I can be okay with even if I disagree with the stance but racial supremacy (and all that it ultimately leads to) I can't get past no matter what the band may sound like.

i dont specifically seek it out, and am sometimes turned off to giving a band a chance if they are affiliated (just because i dont prefer to perpetuate that sort of thinking, though not all bands are serious in it), but if i like a band that is NSBM or has some sort of slant, i wont toss em out. i listen to bands of every belief and ideology. i restore balance to my collection with RABM, haha. [since almost everyone apparently had to look up NSBM, i guess i better lay out: red/anarchist black metal.]

Most of that music is banned here in Germany and i have no interest in even checking it out. The only thing i heard was Burzum (i own a few of the records) and musically it's really great. It's sad that Varg Vikerness is such a despicable piece of neo nazi smurf poo because otherwise he could be a great musician, creating great music

Burzum is not considered NSBM, though. Varg Vikernes does have some of those beliefs, but none of it reflects in his lyrics.

What is it with Raw / bad production quality that's associated with most BM records? They say it adds attitude to it? Doesn't make any sense, you can't make a good thing out of a bad thing!

Me as well I had to look up what the heck this is all about and this is probably THE worst fkked up shyt that I have ever come across, worst than Anti-Christianity IMO

I never really understood the whole uber-raw production idea either.
I dont really mind, but at least dont make it sound that bad on purpose.

as for lyrics, I always prefered general darkness as opposed to the whole anti-religious mumbo jumbo. Hence why I tend to listen to Covenant and Immortal when I'm wanting some black metal.
