Sweeeeeeeet, looking forward to hearing it. A remix isn't necessary, but eh. If it sucks, I'll stick with the original mix. I'm interested in seeing that cover art.

I had no idea that there was ever alternate art for DESTROYER. You really do learn something new every day.

I had heard about that but forgot until they news was posted.
A remix? I didn't think there was anything wrong with the original mix... but since it is Bob Ezrin and not a current "superstar" producer/mixer doing this, it might be good
Then again, Ezrin could pull a George Lucas on us.......

I'd be more interested if there were some extra tracks/leftovers from the vaults added. I don't need another copy of the same album if all they're gonna do to it is give the production a spit-shine and put a new cover on it.
I know the band demo'd a song called "Ain't None of Your Business" (w/Peter on vocals) for the DESTROYER record but it didn't make the album... I'm sure there must be some others... it would be cool to see stuff like that unearthed, it would be more of an incentive for me to care about this thing.

Yeah that's the way I feel about this too. There's no way I'm wasting more money on something I've already bought 3 times prior (vinyl, cassette and cd). I'll just hold out with great anticipation for Monster.

Neither did I. A quick Googling came up empty. I did find this pic though...
A rare non-makeup 70's band photo. Thought that was kinda cool. You don't see those too often.

Yeah, that's gotta be it. The pose(s) are the same, but the costumes and background are different. Cool pic. Wouldn't mind that on a t-shirt.

The Elder is practically a proto-power metal album. Very underrated, and yes, a bit silly.

Sounds like Paul's surgery fixed his voice - it isn't cracking like it was and he sounds like he is singing much clearer. His voice sounds much better than the last two time I saw KISS

Wow, I don't think I would've even picked up on that. Really different take on that one.

Maybe ULT can help out here, can't remember if this is shown in the "KISS:Behind The Makeup" book, but at Creem's office , the magazine's photographer fooled the band. He lied to them and said that their manager gave the okay to also get a regular photo when they were leaving after their shoot with the makeup on, for whatever reasons.
They were shocked but did it anyway because they did what the manager told them to do, and they believed it would not be published.

I've been getting back into the KISS groove lately, revisiting their catalog and such. One thing I've noticed is that most of my favorite material by them is the more pop-ish stuff. I don't mean the pop-metal of the non-makeup albums, but stuff like Let Me Know, Talk To Me, and Hard Luck Woman. I always laugh at people who dismiss their later albums as "going pop", because really, they were always more poppy than most metalheads would like to admit.
I like a lot of their metal tunes as well (specifically the ones on Rock And Roll Over) but I think they're a lot better as a pop-rock band than as hardcore rockers.

Tried to like this band but it didn't click, I just can't find something great in them musically, not trying to sound like a d!ck or something but Is it all about the NOSTALGIA factor? For some weird reasons I even find Bon Jovi musically worthwhile listening to, please educate me folks...And Im not Trolling

I think for some people it might be a nostalgia factor especially for some KISS fans who have not bought a KISS album that was released past 1978. For me, its not because I like all era of KISS and think they are a great band, and also when you go to KISS show, there are lots of kids and twenty something years old there, and they have no emotional investment due to nostalgia, they just like the music and the spectacle.
Elmo, KISS just does not click with you, if they have not by now, then its very doubtful you are going to get into them at this point.

As a recent convert to Kiss - the thing that attracted me was the harmonies and melodies.
