| Doubt Gene and Paul will still be doing KISS in 11 years from now - they'll both be entering their 70s then. But lets not think about that for now and enjoy the years ahead - I'm looking forward to a new KISS album for sure. I liked Sonic Boom and well really I like most of KISS' stuff except Crazy Nights ugh. | |

they could another 3 or so albums between now and then theoretically. I would imagine we will be seeing another slew of greatest hits albums now that there are two new albums that are not represented. _________________

| I wonder if they'll do that exclusive Walmart deal again? Probably helped them move a few extra thousand units than they would have on their own.
It will be interesting too to see if Walmart wants to be bothered this time around, seeing how they're moving away from music sales altogether. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Wasn't really happy with the lack of promotion Walmart gave KISS the last time. Then again, Best Buy barely promoted Chinese Democracy.

This will probably be a blind buy for me (even if I have to go to Walmart - which I HATE). I was really suprised by Sonic Boom; it was much better than I expected.

| Of course it's a blind buy -- it's KISS.
BTW -- Here are some confirmed songs:
Hell or Hallelujah Born to Be a Sinner Out of This World (Tommy) Are You Ready? (Gene) Wall of Sound
Album is said to be heavier than Sonic Boom, while still staying with the idea of the last album to deliver a 'classic' KISS sound, and will feature a cover that is similar to Destroyer. January 2012!

Then you missed out on two very good albums: Revenge & Sonic Boom (their best album)

| In Toho's defence, he never said he stopped buying Kiss albums full stop - he just stopped buying them blindly. Also, Sonic Boom their best? It's good, certainly, but it doesn't quite hold a candle to the '70s classics as far as I'm concerned. _________________ | |

Then you missed out on two very good albums: Revenge & Sonic Boom (their best album) No. Revenge along with Carnival of Souls were their best. Psycho Circus , & Sonic Boom was good in recreating a 1970s vibe again. I pretty much stopped caring after Animalize. The disappointment started with that, and was cemented with Asylum, when they started including filler tracks.

Eh, I love it. Sonic Boom was the first album from KISS that I heard. It's because of this album that I decided to check out their "classic" albums. I like those albums too, but they're not quite up to the same standard, in my opinion. My ranking: Sonic Boom Creatures of the Night Rock and Roll Over Dressed to Kill Love Gun Destroyer Revenge Hotter than Hell Kiss Psycho Circus Their other albums I don't particularly care for.

| Yeah, I still buy KISS albums but I give 'em a listen first. Unlike the old days when I'd get anything KISS put out the very first day it came out.
And I agree with Smindas; I like Sonic Boom but I like the 70s classics like Destroyer better. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I like sonic boom and it is a lot better than Carnival of Souls, but the 70s material is great. I like just about everything although I would rate Psycho Circus a lot higher than most. _________________ | |

January 2012! Every time KISS release a new album, Paul and Gene ALWAYS hype it as 'Destroyer meets (insert another KISS album). I remember when Paul called Psycho Circus "Destroyer Meets Revenge"!!!!!!!!

| KISS hasn't put out a weak album as far as I'm concerned. I love them all including some of the "weaker" albums (Unmasked, the Elder) so their releases are all first day buys for me. | |

| The falsetto singing and riffing in 'The Oath' from "Music from The Elder" LP is a snapshot of what King Diamond's career would be. (Yes, I have always been a HUGE fan of that album.) | |

I thought Psycho Circus was weaker than it should have been. Some of the b-side tracks were better than the album tracks. There are some great songs on the album, but there are some very weak attempts at radio hits. Half the material is killer KISS and the other half is filler fluff. "Psycho Circus," "Raise Your Glasses," and "We Are One" are good tsongs. "Into the Void" is an Ace Frehley penned song that is one of the best he has written for KISS since "Shock Me." One the other hand, the Peter Criss sung ballad “I Finally Found My Way” is horribly weak and "You Wanted the Best" has one of the worst choruses ever written. I love The Elder and don't really feel it's weak album. It's just not what people expect from Kiss. "Unmasked" has good songs but has a very watered down slick recording that robs the band of the heaviness and rawness they need. It's always puzzled me why they decided to use Vini Poncia, since he delivered the weakest of the four Kiss solo platters. I remember reading Peter had a lot to do with using him, but still, you would think they would snap that the only guy gaining a hit was Ace and the best selling album featured Eddie Kramer. Imagine if Unmasked and Dynasty had been recorded by Kramer with a more rock 'n' roll production. It's funny that decades later Gene, Ace & Paul all admit that using Poncia was a mistake and the production on those albums robbed the band of their sound. A lot of people hold up Hot in the Shade as a weak album as well, but Iike that record, moreso than Crazy Nights actually, which is a far more popular record. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!
