But seriously, I live in the DC area and I have talked to enough government workers to know that most of the Secret Service (like much of the CIA and probably) didn't vote for obama.

Obviously, anything that sounds like a threat on any presidents life needs to be investigated, doesn't matter who's President. But I am willing to bet that the agents going to talk to Ted are very happy with the assignment.

And I respect your beliefs, the difference is some folks, like Nugent apparently appears to be, are not so accepting of anyone who does not view life, government, etc the same way he does, then your less then human. This btw does not just apply to people on the right, but also people on the left.


Honestly I do not care for most politicians, and I think it sucks that the last few years whenever Ted Nugent gets mentioned, it is not for his music or classic albums but for some bonehead thing he has just said.

Those of you who think ted should shut up what do you think about the public politics of Bono, Sean Penn, Angelina Jolie and Madonna. They same the same type of stuff but aim it at the republican side. You say its not about free speech but it is. Those of us who are constitutionalists (and NRA supporters) believe that the 1st amendment says we can say whatever to whomever whenever we want to without penalty...period. I don't always agree with ted but alot of his so called racist, homophobic, and political comments I agree with. Alot of the GoP agree with him and use him for fundraisers along another outspoken gun toten artist that I am a huge fan of...hank Williams Jr.. I am glad to have Ted as a fellow Texan!

It's illeagal to make threatening remarks about the president in a public forum. The Secret Service is doing their job by checking it out. End of story.

I remember a DC radio station back during the Bush years thought it would be funny to send one of their guys up to the White House fence with a megaphone and stack of pornography and yell "Come take a shot at bush!" And the Secret Service arrested him while he was still on the air. The law is quite clear - anything that could even be construed as a threat to the president needs to be investigated. I'm surprised they've taken this long to tell Nugent to shut up considering how often he tells politicians to "Suck on my Uzi!"

I do not recall anyone telling George W to eat an uzi or any other horse sh!t Nugent speaks about, they expressed displeasure of the policies of W but never implied any type of harm to the Prez.

Bono has actually said nice things about George W and he stays out of the fray of American politics.

I think it is dumb to make comments about harming the president. Like him or not, no one should be harmed for their beliefs.

WASHINGTON — After meeting with rocker Ted Nugent on Thursday, the Secret Service says its probe into what he had to say about President Barack Obama is over.

Last weekend during a National Rifle Association meeting in St. Louis, Nugent rallied support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and said of the Obama administration: "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November." He also said he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama is re-elected.

That drew the attention of the Secret Service. Nugent said he discussed the matter with two agents on Thursday while in Oklahoma.

"The issue has been resolved," agency spokesman Brian Leary said in a statement. "The Secret Service does not anticipate any further action."

In a statement on his website, Nugent called it a "good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone."

"The meeting could not have gone better," he said. "I thanked them for their service, we shook hands and went about our business. Godbless the good federal agents wherever they may be."

Nugent said he was just speaking figuratively when he made what some perceived to be threats against Obama and that he didn't threaten anyone's life or advocate violence.

"Metaphors needn't be explained to educated people," he said.
