| "Ted Nugent is apparently in trouble with the US Secret Service. This follows the Loudman’s comments at a National Rifle Association convention, when he said of President Barack Obama: “If Barack Obama becomes the President in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year. We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. “It’s good people who bent over and let the enemy in. If the coyote’s in your living room pissing on your couch, it’s not the coyote’s fault. It’s your fault for not shooting him.” As it’s against the law in the States to make any threatening comments against the President, Nugent is now said to be under investigation by the US Secret Service. (The authorities might also be aware of the fact that Uncle Ted has been known to go on-stage brandishing a machine gun, and suggesting Obama suck on it!)" Wonder if Obama ever heard of free speech! | |

| I like Ted's music but the older he gets the more radical his views become. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

He can do it. It is possible!! He has a bit part in the action/comedy movie "Beer For My Horses" with Toby Keith and Rodney Carrington. He plays a cop and his character is almost totally silent for the whole movie, save for two words at the very end.. .... after my wife and I watched that movie, the first thing I said was "Damn, it must've been HELL for Ted to keep his mouth shut all that time!" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Shocking! Not.
I don't agree with Ted on everything, but he's done nothing wrong here. It's fairly obvious he was talking about not re-electing Obama in November, not killing him. If they can't see that, they are the idiots he says they are. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Uncle Ted. The guy reminds me of a cigar lounge I like to visit every once in a while because it's got great selection and great prices. Come on down and enjoy yourself, just remember to ask the (racist)owner what time the Klan meeting starts because it gets a bit unwelcoming in there when the good old boys start coming in with their Confederate flags and attitude. Hasn't stopped me from purchasing hard to find cigars I enjoy though. | |

| Ted Nugent may make great music, but IMO he's a complete wackjob when it comes to politics, (his portrayal in that one episode of The Simpsons he starred in wasn't much of an exaggeration) I personally think musicians should stick to doing music and stay out of politics altogether, NRA gun-nuts like Ted piss me off to no end, so even though investigating him might be a bit over-the-top, I can't really say I sympathize with him in the least. | |

| The last time I saw the Nuge in concert (opening for Kiss in 2000) I was SO turned off by his between-song banter...racist, sexist, homophobic garbage...I literally haven't been able to listen to him since. A damn good guitarist, but a real piece of sh*t human being.

I agree, and Nugent is grown 60 something year old man, he knew what was saying was going to attract negative attention, so he can't cry fowl. The Secret Service whether it is Obama, Bush, or Clinton, or anyone else who happen to be sitting in office, would investigate, that is their job, and it was not directed by President Obama, I doubt the Prez takes ten seconds to think about Nugent. I like his music but it is getting harder and harder to separate the man from his music, and I think it is sad he is more know for being an assclown then a metal legend in the public's eyes

| This has nothing to do with free speech. You are not allowed to threaten the president, period. The reaction would have been exactly the same no matter who is in office.

| This will blow over quickly. The Secret Service will talk to him for five minutes, decide that he's a mongoloid with a big mouth, and that'll be the end of it.
If anything, it'll prove to be a great P.R. stunt for Nugent. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Exactly, both S.D. and FF are correct.
Nothing to do with free speech, if this had been George W he had said something about, the secret service are obliged to investigate.
FF, is right once the Secret Service visit Nugent, they will probably advise him to shut up and play your guitar

I'd love to be a fly on the wall during this cookout. Imagine him grillin' up big ole slabs of Elk or something and giving a bunch of it in take-out containers to the agents. "No hard feelings, right guys? Here, take some of the leftovers back to Mr. and Mrs. Obama." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| He was very careful with his words. Some will see it as threat, others not. The determination of how one "reads between the lines" is gonna be based on which political affiliation(s) you posses.
Just about everything said in the polical arena as of late usually in one form or aother goes back to people making assumptions as to what was implied rather than what was actually said. This happens on both sides of the fence.

| I am pretty liberal when it comes to my politics ( I know surprise! surprise!) and some Democrats tried to make political hay out of his statements but most folks know Nugent is a blow hard. | |
