A song that I have been trying to remember for decades. I could recall people skating but that was it.... and then I'm listening to the radio last Sunday and the dude who has an 80s type show from 1pm-3pm plays it. 98Rock in Sacramento, for those who want to know.
A nice pop song that MTV played in its very early days and then disappeared(like a lot of stuff did on that station, ie: The Vapors, Split Enz, Missing Persons, etc.).

One I'd add from that same era is Leroux "Last Safe Place". I searched all over for this album on CD and finally somehow actually reached Leon Medica who was actually in the band and he sold me a Japanese import of the album. It's a very 80s album but I still hold a soft spot in my heart for it.

I'm not entirely sure where I first heard this song, and I never knew who it was until my Last.fm recommended radio played it for me a few months ago. It's a pretty great melodic 80's pop-rock song with former members of Yes and Genesis (Steve Howe & Steve Hackett). It's pretty comparable to Asia or 80's Yes, actually.
GTR - When the Heart Rules the Mind
You guys might hate it, but I've always had a soft spot for that song in particular.

Another great song I've got on vinyl in the basement. Unfortunately I don't have a working turntable anymore.

I hadn't heard this song forever, and while perusing a particular compilation album on Itunes a couple of months ago, I came across this song. Hell, I completely forgot that Manfred Mann's career actually made it into the 80's. I always thought this song was killer.

I've had this song in my arsenal for quite a while. As a kid I remember thinking how Bruce Springsteen sang this song. The similar vocal style was pretty uncanny. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe TPTB in Eddie & the Cruisers tried to initially get Springsteen for their project. I believe it was Bruce, who recommended John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band.

Queen Of Hearts and Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me are great forgotten Juice Newton songs.
I always forget about this one. Unfortunately I couldn't find the original video for it which I used to think at the time was so awesome.

when I was in Atlanta, there was this amazing show on some station late at night which played all this obscure New-Wave stuff, most of it I unfortunately forgot, but I did manage to remember this amazing thing:

when This song came out I lived in Amarillo Texas. The local college stations played it every Saturday night and was one of the first stations in the US to play this song and Helix.

Good call on Planet P and Tommy Shaw. Girls W Guns was the best song Styx never recorded. I have the "extended version" of "Why Me". There are 3 versions on it, one is an intrumental.
Here's another forgotten one, recently purchased this track from iTunes
Another... The Kings

Picked up a best of a couple of years back, and was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing. Good stuff!
