I love Immortal Soul, so sad it's there last album. Did this change your favorite singer by them?

No. My favorite singer has always been Guy Speranza and then Rhett Forrester. I find all of the Tony Moore albums to be amazingly overrated.

I don't know if I have a favorite singer.
Though I'm still lacking the Guy Speranza albums, I like Tony Moore and Rhett Forester about equal

Guy and Rhett by a WIDE margin.
Tony Moore irritates me to no end. Just because you can hit some of those notes, doesn't mean you should stay in the "only dogs can hear" register all the time. I really just can't appreciate that style any longer.

Put me in the Speranza fan club too. "Fire Down Under" still spins regularly in my car.

I'm a big fan of Tony Moore, but I also think Guy and Rhett were great charismatic singers for their respective albums. Really can't say I prefer one over the others because the music itself changed considerably over the years. Mark could certainly pick talented frontmen though.

Nope, Guy Speranza is still my favorite. Fire Down Under is a classic that everyone should own.

I love them all but I might actually like the Mike Dimeo era best.

Fire Down Under is a classic album, but I find the rest of the band's catalog to be very sub-par crap. That being said, I like Speranza.

I'm not big fan of the new album. However, my fav singer is Tony Moore for Thundersteel alone.

My favourite Riot's are all over the place, Reale always delivered quality; some albums were not as good as others, but it was never bad IMO.
Fire Down Under Thundersteel Rock City Immortal Soul Nightbreaker Restless Breed Narita Born In America The Privilege of Power Army Of One
... is prob my top 10. The remaining four (1996-2002) is all DiMeo era albums - still not bad, but not as memorable as the classic stuff. That said, the DiMeo era started with a great album, Nightbreaker, and ended with another strong release (Army of One).
I sure miss Mark Reale. But he left a lot of great music behind. His sense of melody was nothing short of amazing, and a songwriter who finetuned his craft, which was Traditional Hard Rock and Metal. Speaking of Riot singers, I recommend to check out the demos with Jag Panzer vocalist Harry Conklin as well. It was released as a bootleg single but also is on YouTube:
Also, former Burning Starr/Holy Mother vocalist Mike Tirelli toured with Riot in between DiMeo and the Thundersteel reunion. He is a great vocalist who seemed to tackle most eras sufficiently, it would be nice to hear a soundboard recording if anyone has a tip.

Tough call on my favorite singer. Each singer has their merits. Thundersteel is probably my favorite album of theirs but not necessarily because of Tony Moore.

Don't care for Riot without Moore and some Dimeo albums. An album with The Tyrant would be awesome.

I'd never heard them with Conklin, that was pretty good. I wonder if they'll try to carry on?

With "zero" original members left I surely hope they don't. But with the industry climate being as grim as it is, if there are a few bucks to be made I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

But wasn't this a reunion of the Thundersteel lineup? That's more then 20 years ago.

Mark WAS the only original Riot member on Thundersteel. Many of my friends and I wished they had changed their name prior to Thundersteel because it was a completely different band and they sounded nothing like their earlier incarnation. Nowadays too much time has passed for that to matter, but with Mark's passing I see no excuse for anyone to continue with that name.
Riot circa 1981:
Guy Sperenza - Vocals Mark Reale - Guitar Rick Ventura - Guitar Kip Leming - Bass Sandy Slavin - Drums
"Riot" circa 1988:
Tony Moore - Vocals Mark Reale - Guitar Don Van Stavern - Bass Bobby Jarzombek - Drums

They could call themselves Thundersteel. I don't mind if they carry on but it might be good to change the name.
