Guardian will give you a CD and advance digital download for $30. For $40, you get an autographed drum stick—just one!—and digital download. A single drum stick costs $40? For $40, you should get everything $30 gets you plus a drum stick, etc. I agree. If I give more money, I want to get more stuff. Even the PBS stations do that when begging for cash. Geez, the both of you act like drum sticks grow on trees!!!!!!!!!!!!! well they are made of wood so technically speaking.... I thought he was joking. If he wasn't, what a douche. i thought he was joking too - which is why I tried to make funny, which obviously failed. _________________

Or a decent review/information of an album. Personally I've always found Guardian to be the band in this genre that did the least for me. Not horrible or anything, just the very definition of "it's okay".

Or a decent review/information of an album. That's an even better analogy as I've been frustrated many of times looking for a band or a review of a band on the net. It sometimes gets to the point where I have to give up. Of course it's not easy when some bands pick common words for their band name and only have a self-titled release.

After that, they went into suckage mode.

| It will be interesting to see what they come up with. I bought their 3 song digital EP they released about 6 months ago. The songs are good but anyone expecting a return to Fire and Love is going to be disappointed, which is why I won't be dontating. | |

Funny thing is Fire and Love is the one that formed my opinion of them. Guess my expectations were too high to begin with. I should probably check out some of their others because knowing how my taste can run I might love those. - Quote :

In thinking about this whole kickstarter stuff, I think I would be so much more likely to put some money up if the bands would put up demos, samples, or even general album/song ideas of what they have planned. Maybe some have done that, but from what I've seen the whole lure is what you get for contributing not what the end musical result would be. Give me something more up front than "we want to record and need funds". - Quote :

Don't even get me started ranting on this. How is it I can find a million ways to illegally download an album but little way to find what someone thought about it. All I can say is thank goodness for the fine people who post the stuff on youtube. Else I'd go insane.

I think it will be a solid rock album without being necessarily trendy or throwback...probably won't sound anything like specific previous albums, but still rock. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| I bought First Watch on cassette from a cheap used bin in 2003 or so. I didn't know it was a Christian band and probably wouldn't have bought it if I had known (the term Christian Rock often deters me).
I wasn't too into. Just a few listens probably. I thought it was odd a few years later when I learned on the internet that these dudes had a following.

They changed singers and styles after First Watch....got way more popular. Moved from an 80s Dokken-ish sound to a more Melodic Hard Rock type sound with big production and Tesla/Firehouse type sound. _________________ FINAL SIGN

After my last post, I actually decided to listen to First Watch on Spotify....since it'd been about 10 years. It's not really that bad. Some of the lyrics are a little hard to take, but musically, I actually kinda dig it a bit now. Not enough to buy I might check out some of the other stuff on Spotify.
