| I will have to hear a few more songs before I pull the trigger on this one. Still, it is not nearly as bad as Promise Man tho... | |

Good one Nicest thing I can say about Bottle Rocket is that i'd rather listen to it then Justin Bieber, though that's really saying much!

| Meh. (Shrug)
As I said earlier in this thread, the only Guardian album I ever bothered with was First Watch... and judging from this new sample, I won't be getting back on their bandwagon anytime soon. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

They can't afford a bandwagon, thus the kickstarter campaign. |

| It's a strong song. It's got a good hook. It's definitely not an attempt to recreate anything in their past. They're just writing catchy rock songs. I like it. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| I'm still not decided on this song. They released a couple of other tracks to their backers around six months ago which I liked more than this one. | |

| Anybody else find it interesting that one of the biggest "trend" following bands of yesterday isn't following the "trend" of today ? Which is old Christian band releasing a hard rocking album. _________________ | |

Yup, although Bride could be accused for the same thing. Still, with all these acts of yesteryear coming back around to their once-popular format after suffering poor attempts at trends, you'd think Rowe & co. would rise up especially considering this record was funded by their former fans. Maybe some current, but you get the point. I do like the song, and while there's no solo there's at least a couple of nice licks, but I'm not gonna rush out and buy this.

There are "better" songs left over from "Power And Love" sessions than what appeared on most of the albums after "Swing Swang Swung". Oh well, guess we can't always live in the past. _________________

Yes we can, but these stupid bands won't let us.

| I got my download link for the new album today as a backer, though physical discs are about 30 days away yet. Haven't had the chance to listen, but will do so ASAP! | |

| Any thoughts on this now that the series of delays is over?
The best I can say is that I don't not like this. It's just not anything like what the vast majority of their fan base likely wanted, and/or committed to funding the project in hope of. The best songs to my ears are "King of Fools," "The Real Me," and maybe "Paranoia Kills." It's not a terribly exciting album to listen to straight through, as there are some long strings of average/slightly boring songs; and the inclusion of three "interludes" was beyond unnecessary.
I'm glad that the band did end up seeing the project through to completion despite repeated setbacks. It's just nowhere near the quality of their classic albums. I'm hoping to see them at Melodic Rock Fest in October.
