Haven't gotten to that one but it's in the on-deck circle to be played soon, so I'll find out for myself! I don't even remember what they sounded like when I checked out the samples at CDBaby, but obviously I was impressed enuff to throw $5 for'em.

they have 3 cds actually, but the 3rd is actually their great demos(but only the 2 of them , i wonder why they left out the 3rd)....perhaps you should check dedkor with seventh omen guitarist...pure, real US steel in the olde tradition(with just few "modernities" but at least acceptable to these ears....)

I think the one I have here (ABSTRACT DESTINY) is their demos. The inside cover sez that "songs 1 thru 5 are from the ABSTRACTIONS recording (1992) and songs 6 thru 9 are from the DATE WITH DESTINY recording (1990)."
If I like what I hear on this disc I'll likely go back to CDBaby and pick up their other stuff that's available there...

Out of all the $5 deals I've purchased so far, that Seventh Omen disc is at the top of the heap. Some discs get a few spins, then get stuck in the racks for awhile, but the Seventh Omen disc keeps finding it's way into the rotation. I keep meaning to pick up their other releases, but you know. Time, money, yada, yada, yada.
EDIT: It's the Abstract Destiny cd I own. And if this is just a collection of demos, their released material must be awesome!

Right on MG71. I'm about three quarters of the way thru the Seventh Omen ABSTRACT DESTINY disc and I'm very impressed thus far. It's kinda got a Crimson Glory/early Savatage/old Fates Warning vibe to it. Good stuff!
By the way, if you haven't already ordered it, I recommend that ya get yo'hands on that Steel Prophet 2-CD that's in CDBaby's $5 bin (BEWARE)... it's been kickin' my ASS all morning!!

I was browsing CDBaby today and it appears that three out of the four CDs I got from them week before last - Lanfear, Seventh Omen, and Steel Prophet -- are now out of stock. Did I snag the last copies they had?? Haha. Sorry to anyone who might have been thinking about getting any of those three.

I wanted to snag that Seventh Omen disc, you homo! Hopefully it comes back in stock. I'm assuming we're sending a lot of business CD Baby's way.

If we could strike a deal with CDBaby to get a kick-back for sending business their way, we could fund the whole Metal Up trip to Vegas! Of course, we'd be going in circles, spending money on cd's which we could've put towards the trip, only to get a smaller portion back.

Just got these today:
Avalanch - Mother Earth Mattson - Another Dimension Mattson - Powergames Various Artists - Labour Of Love: In Honour Of Life (w/Bonus Tracks) Winters Bane - Redivivus
That Labour Of Love compilation is cool. If I remember correctly, it was done in tribute to a guy from Enuff Znuff that died of cancer; the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. But there are some cool tracks here, like one with Heaven And Earth featuring Richie Sambora, an unreleased Enuff Znuff track, Jeff Pilson doing a killer cover of "When Heaven Comes Down."

That Heaven and Earth CD is a nice piece of melodic hard rock. Kelly Hansen, Richie Sambora, Joe Lynn Turner, Bobby Kimball and a bunch of other recognizable names on it.

Ah, I didn't even notice that song was on the Heaven And Earth CD. Oh well. Great band, though.

Just ordered, all $5.
Domain - The Artefact Manticora - Hyperion Manticora - Roots of Eternity Manticora - Darkness with Tales to Tell Sandalinas - Living On the Edge Steel Prophet - Beware (2CD)
That is killer. And there's TONS of $5 CDs. You've just gotta take the time to find them.
Last time I was on this board (probably several weeks ago) this same topic came up. I thought you already had those Manticora discs. Anyway, 2nd time I'm recommending them to everyone. Good speedy power metal with slight prog influences. Later.

This is probably the same thread. I posted what you quoted last August. =)
But I second your recommendation!

I haven't gotten to it yet, but the samples sounded great on the site. I'll let you know. And yes, Sandalinas is awesome. I'm hoping their latest goes for $5 at some point.

I'm on the last track of this one now, and it's well worth the $5. The last track is a U2 cover, though.

I hope that Sandalinas drops in price too. It's way too much right now. In other bargain news, I picked up Black Tide for $7 today. Well worth the price. And Manticora rocks.
