Maybe the first time in rock, but it was developed from jazz drumming. Louis Bellson from Duke Ellington's orchestra was using double-bass and blast beats in the mid 1950s during his drum solo features. It's also common in free jazz (Sonny Murray) and fusion (Tony Williams).

Yeah. I saw that Attila had one too in the comments section for their video.

I'm sure I hit things all at the same time with feet and hands when I was a kid in some fit of rage. I read somewhere or on a documentary that the nice fella from Napalm Death was the first...who knows!
