I honestly don't know why people don't...it's some of the Dio-band's darkest, doomiest stuff... Because Tracy G. wasn't a Vivian Campbell clone, he made the mistake of being himself...can't do that when you play straight-ahead metal. It's a cardinal sin in the land of the patch covered denim jacket...
I loved 'Strange Highways' and 'Angry Machines' was not an album I embraced when it was first released, as a matter a fact I hated it but since then I have grown to like the album

| Dio - Angry Machines
Magica is quite good. Classic, heavy sounding Dio. The story is what it is, but there are some strong songs in there.

| I love Magica as well. Bought it as a new release and found out Dio was touring and playing the entire album live from beginning to end. Then I found out he was playing at a little club in my town. I played that album to death before that show and really enjoyed it. Then seeing it all live, up-close and personal made it all that much better! So, it's a minor classic in my book. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| DEEP PURPLE - of the albums I own, I'll say Stormbringer, but I do enjoy that one DIO - probably Angry Machines EXODUS - Let There Be Blood or Atrocity Exhibition KREATOR - Love it all to be honest, but my least listened is Violent Revolution RIOT - Haven't heard a bad one QUEEN - Don't know them well RUSH - Also haven't heard enough to judge, I only own a compilation that I have somewhere MEGADETH - Risk is an obvious choice as it's so vastly different at times, but I still like it | |

For the guy that said he disliked Burn, I stand with you brother.
If you are referring to me, and my like for ' Come Taste the Band' I stand by that album and I stand by my statement that Bolin was a genius. I misread that statement. S.D. said that he liked Stormbringer better than Burn, not that he disliked Burn. While I don't dig Stormbringer or Taste over Burn, I often lump Burn and the Coverdale/Hughes albums into that pile. Safe to say I prefer early and late Purple. I enjoy Taste more than Stormbringer, and I do hold Tommy Bolin in high regard. I can't deny a good musician when I hear one.

I love 'Magica', well except for that story reading he does on the end of the disc. I don't think I've ever bothered to listen to that spoken-word track in the decade or so that I've owned that CD. Yeah, never bothered with that track either. Dio was a great singer but a mediocre speaker. I love Magica as well and it ranks as one of my favorite Dio albums. I love Strange Highways as well, but Angry Machines leaves me cold and I barely listen to it (I can only get into about 3 songs). Deep Purple-Don't have enough of their stuff to say which is the worst. The ones that I do have are all good. Exodus-After Force Of Habit I stopped following them. The lyrics have become too anti-Christian and anti-conservative for my taste. Kreator-Only have a few of their albums. Riot-See Kreator. Queen-See Kreator and Riot. Rush-See the above 3. Megadeth-I don't have anything between Youthanasia and The System Has Failed so I will go with Endgame. Not bad yet not good either.

Burn and Mistreated are good songs. Stormbringer is good also, but I'm a major Deep Purple fan so all their albums are good to me. Deep Purple - If I had to pick, i'd say the first the first three with Rod Evans, again better than most, but not on my play list very often. (in fact I lost the cd's in a move and have yet to replace them) Rush - I'd have to say the first album gets the least amount of airtime. Dio, I only have the first two, gave the others away. Megadeth - I've got nothing past Rust in Peace and I can't decide between the 4 I have since I think they are all good. Exodus - Only have first two albums and they are both good. Usually if I don't like an album I give it away, and if it is a band that I love I'll always find some reason to listen to it. What works for me is making a play list of the least favorite album with songs from my favs and mix the order up and listening that way can really bring songs out that I maybe wouldn't have noticed when playing the album straight through. |

| Well, Megadeth's worst is easily Risk, I hate that album. For Kreator, it'd probably be Endorama, although I'm not positive. I guess 1999 was the low point for both bands. I guess I'd have to agree with Witchfinder about Exodus's worst being anything w/ Dukes. I'm not sure about Rush, probably something released between 1985 and 1990, that was when they were using the synthesizers wayyyyyyy too much and started to sound too poppy (and I do like Signals, actually). Although I certainly wouldn't call them their worst albums, I'm not that crazy about A Farewell to Kings or Permanent Waves and consider them to be tremendously overrated. Does anybody else agree?
*Waits for all the rabid Rush fans to threaten me hehe*

| DEEP PURPLE - not very familiar with all the albums but 'Come Taste the Band' is one I don't really care for. Not necessarily their worst though.
DIO - Angry Machines or Magica
EXODUS - Bonded by Blood because I think it is way too overrated and the music itself is not that great. Yeah I can see the historical value behind it but honestly the album just doesn't do it for me much. Not to discredit myself too much but I prefer the live version, Another Lesson In Violence to the original release.
KREATOR - the stuff between Coma of Souls and Violent Revolution is pretty hard to swallow. I think Renewal is my least favorite because the vocals sound just deranged.
RIOT - I am only familiar with their 80s / early 90s albums so I can't say really...
QUEEN - Hot Space (enough said)
RUSH - Presto ... just nothing exciting about this album at all.
MEGADETH - Risk (too easy)

MEGADETH - Risk (though I have come to appreciate Crush 'Em over the years! GO FLYERS! GO KINGS! I bought Risk when it came out just for Crush Em before I was a big fan of Megadeth but lyrically my favorite song on that album is "I'll be There" but based on what ive heard of Megadeth I would have to agree that Risk is not their best. Definite departure from the intensity of albums like Rust in Peace, Youthanasia, Countdown to Extinction

| Deep Purple: Shades of Deep Purple. Not bad, just my least favorite of what I've heard. Dio: Strange Highways. Took me quite a while to get into this one for some reason. Queen: Hot Space. Made in Heaven suffers somewhat from feeling not quite finished, but it's better than this. Rush: Roll the Bones, probably. Another that's just my least favorite of what I've heard. Megadeth: So Far, So Good... So What. And a third least favorite, although I've never heard the much-beloved Risk.
I've only heard one album and a couple of stray songs each by Riot and Exodus, and I'm not sure I've heard any Kreator, so I can't judge any of them.

Of course, this album features the final recordings of Queen before Freddie's passing. There are not many 'new' songs per se to be found on Made in Heaven. If I am not mistake there are only 3 newly written songs for this album: Mother Love and A Winter's Tale. As for the rest of the material from what I read these are just previously unreleased / unfinished songs which were recorded in some capacity during previous album sessions from the 80s.

That song and "Black Sunrise" are probably the only 2 songs I can tolerate on that album.

I don't think they are overrated, in fact I would say "A Farewell To Kings" is rather underrated these days, very few people seem to pay attention to either that album or Hemispheres. Permanent Waves is a bridge album between the progressive era and their more streamlined approach to follow on Moving Pictures, so it's basically it's own animal. Most people seem to only know the songs Spirit of Radio and Free Will, a shame really because the whole album is great. |

| DEEP PURPLE -n/a (I only own a best-of, so I'm not well versed in Purp)
DIO - ANGRY MACHINES.
EXODUS - Never liked IMPACT IS IMMINENT very much, never bothered with'em beyond that
KREATOR -n/a (not a fan)
RIOT - n/a (I only own THUNDERSTEEL and like that just fine)
QUEEN - n/a (casual fan)
RUSH -n/a (casual fan)
MEGADETH - I'm gonna go against the grain and say WORLD NEEDS A HERO, which was supposed to be their big comeback album after the RISK catastrophe, but ended up sounding rather half baked. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
