How much do you spend per month on music (cds/vinyl whatever)

So far this year (2012) I have spent ZERO on CDs.

Here we are almost 3 weeks into the year and I have yet to buy a CD. There was a time when I would have found that completely unacceptable. I did spend 89 cents on a one-song download though so so far this year my total musical expenditure is 89 cents.

I've also spent zero on CDs this month!!! I think it's because I'm listening to everything I own in order of artist/year, so I don't feel the need to constantly be ordering things, because I wouldn't listen to it until I arrived at that artist.

It's had to say what I normally spend on CDs. Some months it could be only 4 or 5 CDs, while others have gone upwards of 20. In the summer of 2010, I bought 100 CDs in the span of 7 weeks

Same here. I haven't gotten anything yet. And not for lack of trying. 2 FYE's and a visit to my local used shop over the weekend and I came up with diddly-squat.

I did get an Amazon gift card for Christmas, so I'm doing a little homework on some perspective purchases. I'll probably place an order before the weekend.

Between 150 and 250 $ nowadays, before a lot lot more but without a job its harder.

I don't know, but I don't spend nearly as much as I used to. I'm trying to save as much money as I can, and I own most of the CDs that I own. If there is something I want, I'll just go ahead and buy it. I'd say lately I've been buying about three to five CDs a month on average, but that is a rough guess.

Actually, I just got done sending a resume out, and I asked my dad what he thought of the cover letter I wrote. He pointed out a fatal mistake that I made. I intended to start by saying, "I am a recent college graduate" but I accidentally wrote "I am a recent college degree". :geek: :joker:

i'd venture a guess at around $200-$300.

I don't keep track of what I spend per month. It's all I usually spend my money on, and the bills are getting paid. So I know it's not getting out of hand or anything. I know it's nowhere near Wargod's amount. Damn! I actually haven't bought anything this year, but I have $100 in gift cards to music stores out here. So the drought will be over soon.

Around 60 to 80 $ a month.

On new CDs - perhaps 30-40$ a month, I will usually purchase 3 or 4 discs from Amazon.ca or various distros (Stormspell, Century Media, Relapse, CDN Records) per month.

On used CDs - maybe 50-100$, but it always depends if I get a good deal or not. There are months where I spent 500$, and others on which I spent 10$. On average, I'd say I usually spend 500$ per year on new discs and 1000$ per year on used discs.

Now that the kids are gone.....I can afford to spend more on cds and stuff Problem is I really don't have the desire to do so like I used to. Imagine that....

varies for me, for cds it can be 30 one month, and 0 the next

same with movies

God, this month has been insane for me. I've added 80 albums to my collection! I got some for free, but obviously not enough to make it sensible to have added so many. I don't know what happened. Haha.

I think that's cool , 80 albums at once. But I don't know how practical it would be for me. I can only really savor about 5 - 6 new albums per month and it gets more challenging when I have 10 new albums because I normally only end up really listening to about half in a single month.

I bought a lot of stuff (probably about 30) in December and I've yet to properly listen to everything. I've listened closely to maybe 12 out of those 30 albums I got.

I used to spend alot more than I do now. Now...maybe $30. I buy from ebay alot and also trade alot at the local record store.
