| I listened to Orphaned Land's "Mabool" album at work today. I used to really love this album when it was new. And I mean really love it! I spun it countless times back then. But today I couldn't get into it at all?
Anyone else have this happen to recent (or older) albums? _________________

| I put on Saint - Time;s End just yesterday... I loved this album when it came out, but yesterday it just wasn't working for me.
I probably loved it so much because I gave in to peer pressure and went the "Christian music" only route for a while and it was one of the few that was available....

| Living Sacrifice's Nonexistent.
I used to spin it all the time, but now the vocals are so ridiculous I can't take it.

| When I was a kid, I liked Guns N Roses a good bit. Outside of some stuff from Lies and Appetite, I don't like them much anymore. | |

| My tastes have changed so much over the years that I would end up with quite the extended list.

I'd be interested to see where you're coming from here if you'd like to at least list a few.

| As an example, I used to love "Destruction" when I was a teenager, used to play Eternal Devastation and Infernal Overkill all the time. Had a Destruction patch on my jacket, ordered t-shirts, etc.
...but I go back and try to revisit them a couple years ago and I just couldn't stop laughing. Amateurish to the extreme and I found myself wondering "why" I had ever liked them in the first place.

I thought it was the greatest thing ever back in the day... The production is crap, and the songs drag on too long. A lot of people say this, but I think the production is the best Metallica ever had. Lars' drums never sounded better. And even if there is "no bass," it's totally not needed.

Argh, the mixing is terrible, Seems like they forgot the Mids here, Snare drums predominate and you can hear Lars' fake (layered) drumming all over, makes you wonder how mediocre of a drummer he is, the volume level I believe is only 89 decibels, which is way too low for a Metal record, Ironically, the Rawness and production flaws actually helped to achieve define the overall 'feel' of the album.

| Being a drummer myself, as well as one who appreciates a big stereo system, the drum mix on ...And Justice For All is superb. When someone is jamming that album in their car and has a high quality audio system, man, you can hear/feel the punch of the bass drums a mile away, and it's awesome.
As for the bass guitar; well, yeah, it's sorely missing. They did that on purpose, though, to mess with Jason; although, they didn't take into account how the fans would take it. They took it well, though.
On the thread subject, I'll just say that there are many albums that I wouldn't listen to at all anymore if they didn't have nostalgic value.

What!? Justice features Lars' best drumwork EVER! "Fake" drumming? Please specify. I also love the way his snare sounds, it's great! Lars really peaked on this album, and being a drummer myself, I can really appreciate it.
