| Geez, I'm always late to the party with these things. Most of the ones that I can think of have already been mentioned. But, here's one that wasn't:

| I think Mortal Enemy's 'Tame the Beast Within' demo is great, but the people who've heard of them are few and far between, I think. They never even got signed or released any CDs, but should have.
They were kind of a mix of Destruction and old Metallica, to give you a general idea of genre. They did have their own signature sound, though, and weren't clones of anyone.

Does that give you any ideas? I'd certainly love to discuss some of these bands on here a little bit. Almost all of these albums are in my top 100 favorite thrash albums of all-time, and I listed the stuff in a relatively accurate order. Super list and i agree with many. The TARGET debut is great and a lot better then their second. Nice to see VENDETTA debut album on your list too. Some more good ones: HOLY MOSES:FINISHED WITH THE DOGS CYCLONE:BRUTAL DESTRUCTION MANDATOR:INITIAL VELOCITY EXE:debut TOXIC:debut

Not in my world. Also MUERTO EN LA CRUZ is great. Not pure thrash, also some death in the mix.

I have two of Mortal Enemy's demos, and I'm not crazy about either one. They're not horrible, but they're not really my kind of thrash.

| Sekel - The Final Confict. Horribly produced (probably recorded on a jambox), but the music is so catchy that I find myself humming their riffs, even considering that their only demo tape (six songs) was released 20 years ago.
I would also add: Forced Entry - Uncertain Future Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence
And let's NOT forget just about everything that Martyr (California) ever did. Wonderful stuff, that.

| Demolition Hammer are very well known for a later thrash band. Underrated, but not amazingly obscure, either. Not exactly first tier in terms of popularity, but a definite cult favorite.
Also, I prefer their debut, Tortured Existence, but Epidemic of Violence is awesome as well. Fantastic band, the best thrash metal band to debut in the 1990s.

Yeah, the Cyclone album is pretty cool, too. Unfortunately, I don't own any Holy Moses albums at the moment, but I do like what I've heard. Perhaps I should put that album on my Christmas wish list.

| Can't believe I forgot to mention one of my favorite blind buys ever....
Death Warrant - Time Of Dying
It's a comp of their demos and some live tracks. Sounds like a boom box recording but it has energy and attitude to spare. Became addicted to it first listen.

Great album! Their 1993 album Nemesis is also very good, although it isn't really a thrash album.

| Took me a few listens to get into that Dead & Bloated. Never knew why either since it has so many elements I love. It used to go for crazy prices a few years ago and I managed to find a copy on secondspin for 2.00. Actually thought of selling it but gave it another chance and it grew on me. | |

I like'em both about equal, I guess. I own both albums in a 2-CD set that the band reissued a few years ago so when I listen to one, I usually end up putting the other one on back to back with it, so they kinda come stapled together in my mind, if that makes any sense. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
