I'm obsessed and one day would like to be familiar with every classic thrash band who ever put out a full-length LP. I've been listening to the likes of

Holocross
Kruiz
Wrath
F*** Off
Virus
Mezzrow
Soothsayer
Toxodeth
Vulcano
Flames of Hell
Concrete Sox
Apocrypha
Protector
Napalm
Necropolis
Minotaur
Poison (Ger)
Powerlord
Bloodcum
MX
Vectom
Bloodlust
Shah
Violent Force
Messiah
Detente
Deaf Dealer

Also a bit of traditional heavy metal like

Dealer
Hawaii
Atomkraft
Griffin
Omen
Cobra
Gargoyle
Evil

Anyone have any opinions on 'em? So much dirty, vintage thrash out there -- I love it!

Holocross - solid thrash, but nothing mind-blowing
Kruiz - I'd rather call 'em heavy than thrash, but awesome band!!! My favorite from Russia!
Wrath
- For now I only have "Insane Society" CD, which is in my opinion
excellent Testament-like thrash! I've also got a copy of their 1st
album, but I haven't had time to listen to it yet.
F*** Off - Very cool Spanish version of Slayer - with killer accent!!!! Smile
Mezzrow - A cool mix between Vio-Lence and Testament, but nothing out-standing.
Soothsayer - Crazy lyrics, musically somewhere next to Mega Mosh.
Flames
of Hell - Hm, I wouldn't call thrash 'em either, perhaps black metal
would fit them better (the lyrics), or something else Smile Kick ass stuff
anyway, although I wouldn't pay $3000 to get it Smile
Apocrypha - soliiiiiiiid ....
Protector - Some really brutal stuff!!!! But again, nothing 10/10 here, in my opinion.
Napalm
- I only have Zero to Black album, which is "so-so", but I've heard a
track from the 1st album on 88 Steamhammer promo CD, and that was way
better!!
Minotaur - haven't heard the album, just the demo - solid Sodom-ish stuff.
Powerlord - the awakening of the POWERLOOOOOORD!!!!!! Awesome, perfect, godly, can't find the words Smile
Bloodcum - the worst thrash band? Smile
MX - I have their albums but I never got into it really ... never been a big fan of noisy mid 80s Brazilian thrash anyway Smile
Vectom - I've heard only a couple of songs, but that's it - need to give them a proper listen some time!
Shah - Very cool thrash band ...
Violent Force - Gods? Smile Killer band, one of my fave from Germany.
Detente
- perhaps the bast band w/ female vocals - never liked the Fear of God
stuff, but Recognize No Authority was mind blowing!!!
Deaf Dealer - solid Maiden copy.

I actually think Bloodcum is kinda cool. Obviously they were a band that didn't take themselves seriously, which is a breath of fresh air at times.

I agree that the '80s Brazilian death/thrash stuff is pretty hard to get into. I dig it but only on occassion. Stuff like Chakal, Vulcano and even early Sepultura are pretty rough stuff. My favs from Brazil are Psychic Possessor and Mutilator, they are a bit more accessible in my opinion and musically more melodic than most of the others. It's too bad production is pretty crappy on many of these South American albums.

Definitely give Vectom more of a proper listen when you have the time. One of my fav German speed/thrash bands (arent' they all good though? lol.)

Speaking of late 80s Brazilian thrash scene, the 2nd Taurus album or
Phantasmagoria's The Mist would be among my favorites. After Sepultura,
of course! Smile

There is a Brazilian Dthrash band called Deliver. I have their CD reviewed on NLTM.

There is another Brazilian thrash band I have reviewed on NLTM but I can't recall the name right now.

"Bloodcum!" Geez, what a name huh? Laughing very hard
Wasn't Tom Araya (Slayer)'s brother in that band? I haven't heard them in years but I vaguely remember their record label (Wild Rags) using that as a selling point.

My dad's got bootlegs by Bloodlust and Minotaur, and they sound RAW! (besides the fact its a bootleg) Raw, heart-pounding, and I love it.
