I'd definitely grab it for that price, the list price is over $100.

Yea 16 discs and a DVD for that price is like stealing. haha Amazon has it pre order for $120 or something like that. I wouldn't but it for that much and I wasn't going to unless I came across it used eventually.

It is an amazing deal for certain. My personal hang-up is that I have several of the albums already. Awesome for someone who doesn't own them. If I could get it for fifty-ish I'd be all over it. Yeah I'm cheap that way. Will wait and see if importcds doesn't do a cyber-monday sale or something.

Yea they are suppose to have a bunch of special guests at their anniversary show, which I believe is on Monday? It was suppose to happen last week but with the storm they had to change the date. I wanted to go but I didn't want to make the drive into the city. Sucks cause I think a lot of people got refunded and now those tickets are back up again but I still don't want to go in there. That place is a nightmare right now.

I think it is a great deal too, especially since i dont own them all. Still a couple after the columbia years but this will help a lot.

My gf wrote them last night. She's waiting for a reply. I checked the site out and it still says backordered and the price even went up $20.

I've been working through the BOC catalog and I wondered if anyone here had any feelings one way or the other on the "reunion" albums from the '90s and early '00s: Heaven Forbid and Curse of the Hidden Mirror.
It's still the same band and I can tell the performance is there, but it feels like the production and songs aren't. Heaven Forbid comes out ahead just a bit to my ears because the energy is higher, but there are still too many "meh" tracks on it to my ears.
With Curse, the real shame is that the artwork gives you the impression you're in for a classic, vibey BOC album, but the music is so cleanly played and performed that it's sterile in a way that not even the much maligned Club Ninja (which I happen to like) touched.
Anyone else have any thoughts on these?

Did you ever pick up the box set that came out a few years back?
I only recently got around to listening to the live downloads that came with it and some of those absolutely kick. The last one from '86 was a beast. The version of Godzilla was a trip. Interesting to hear it with a different drummer. The guy had a much "beefier" tone than I'm used to hearing on their stuff.

Those are 2 Cult albums I've never heard.

I've been reaching further back into the 70's over the last year. I've had Workshop of the Telescopes for many a year, but I wanted to give the whole catalog of B.O.C. a shot, as I probably at some point will start purchasing their catalog. Funny enough, I still haven't listened to their debut. I've gone all the way up to "Revolution By Night". Since I hear that "Club Ninja" is absolutely awful, I guess I won't even bother listening to that one. So, from what I've heard so far:
1. Secret Treaties (Easily) 2. The Revolution By Night 3. Spectres 4. Mirrors 5. Tyranny and Mutation
The only album that didn't do much for me was Fire of Unknown Origin

This is a cool thread. I was listening to a greatest hits cd from them. .....in September.....for weeks.....in my car...it struck how “ hippie band “ they were. Then how Sabbath and them did a tour - very notorious billing for sure. BOC were very different - not normal typical writing - I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a book out about them. Anyways, I’ve been mulling over buying a box set of their stuff.... Never bought a box set from any band....but am now convinced - cool responses !

Club Ninja is definitely the weakest album in the BOC catalog IMO. Although it does have "Dancin' In The Ruins" on it which is the only reason I bought it (used for 4.99).
Just curious, what's your issue with Fire Of Unknown Origin? I think that's a great BOC album.
My favorite BOC album is Imaginos followed by Agents of Fortune/Spectres (those two flip flop for me constantly for second place) and Mirrors.

Maybe I need to go listen to it again. I listened to every B.O.C album at least 3 times. I already had "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" and "Burnin' For You" off "Workshop" and the only other track that really interested me was "Vengeance" (The Pact). The other songs on that album, just didn't resonate with me. Even though the B.O.C. sound seemed to be constantly changing from one album to the next and that didn't bother me, that album just didn't click with me.

I understand. Sometimes music just doesn't click and you really can't put your finger on why. My favorite off that album is "Joan Crawford"
"Christina.....Mother's home...."
So creepy...

I bought this box set a couple years ago and love it. Pretty sure it has just about every studio album, plus some live ones, and it also came with a digital code for four unreleased live albums you can download. Each CD has a cheap cardboard sleeve with the Album cover of each album, and it's nothing fancy, but you can get everything they've pretty much done all at once. Plus some of the cds come with bonus songs not on the originals.
Might be able to get one cheaper somewhere else, but even if not, it's probably worth the price for all the musical c you get. I paid about sixty bucks for mine, but it was a couple years ago.

The singer of BOC looks a lot like Jeff Lynn of ELO.

Fire Of Unknown Origin is at the top of my list for favorites (along with Agents Of Fortune and Spectres). Another under rated gem is Mirrors.

This is one of my favorite BOC songs and it's from my favorite BOC album Imaginos which I think is overlooked by a lot of BOC fans. This track just has a creepy, cool vibe to me.
It's basically an updated version of Subhuman from Secret Treaties.

The only song I ever heard from Imaginos before this was the version of Astronomy. But yeah, that's a pretty cool tune. I should hunt that one down.

Just got back from the show tonight, and damn they played their asses off. They did a ton of their more obscure songs, or at least songs they don't usually play. They the Black Blade, The Vigil, my personal favorite, Shes as Beautiful as a Foot, plus some I can't think of right now. Of course they played the more popular stuff, Godzilla, reaper, burnin etc...Dudes really jammed out during Then Came the Last days of May. Fan or not, these guys are some killer musicians, and are incredible to watch. If you haven't seen them before, you really need to make the effort and go if they come to your neck of the woods.
