Side 1 1."Transmaniacon MC" 2."I'm on the Lamb but I Ain't No Sheep" 3."Then Came the Last Days of May" 4."Stairway to the Stars" 5."Before the Kiss, a Redcap" Side 2 1."Screams" 2."She's as Beautiful as a Foot" 3."Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" 4."Workshop of the Telescopes" 5."Redeemed"
Lots of "silly" lyrics and/or "dark humor" (depending on one's perspective) and a variety of tunes & good musicianship. I recently got the Complete Columbia Albums CD Collection w/ bonus tracks, but the poll is just for the original album tracks. Solid debut (IMHDO) for that time frame.

That is my 2nd favorite tune on the album. Lyrically speaking, double entandre done sublime. (IMHDO)

My choice as well.
Interesting perspective of a tragic event.
Growing up, I heard first hand accounts. Accountability applied to a lot more than those wearing the death head.

The first time i heard “Cities” - I wanted a guitar. An electric guitar. Amp. The whole setup. Strings. Cords. Guitar strap. I loved that song. It’s interesting how “ Godzilla “ is close to the Cities riff. Fire. Destruction. Lol. They were way weirder and more complex than Sabbath. I remember an older kid at school, invited me over, he played “Godzilla”…..I was shocked….. Then h did Dont fear the Reaper…. I knew buying a guitar was a mistake.

I have like 10 unwrapped new CD's sitting on my desk. I'll get to it when I'm retired. Maybe.
I of course do know Cities on Flame, it's on a BöC best of comp I own. Beyond that, I only have 2 Blue Öyster Cult albums on CD. And I've heard about 3-4 others. Their catalogue is quite large.
Good band, though.

I have this and paid a lot more than this. It's a great box set. You get practically everything, including live albums.
