I know you said no keys, but as far as I'm concerned there aren't too many that can top Mike Patton. Go play some Faith No More & Tomahawk.

How does Patton sound anything like Scheepers and Halford?

I would suggest the first 3 Tourniquet albums - Stop the Bleeding, PsychoSurgery, Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance. Guy Ritter is a fantastic vocalist.
Bloodgood - Pretty much any album. Les Carlson can wail, especially on the live albums.
Stryper - Against the Law. Michael Sweet really pushes his high range on this album and sonically it is their very best.
Rob Rock/Impellitteri - 'Nuff Said
I am also a huge fan of the high register vocal style as well.

Eyesore already mentioned Persuader, and a few people mentioned Deep Purple, sooo...
I guess Dark Empire (same singer as Persuader, Jens Carlsson)

Steve Benito from Heir Apparent's second album, One Small Voice. Very operatic, sharing similarities with Geoff Tate and Midnight from Crimson Glory

Robyn Kyle could fill in for Ian Gillian of DP and not struggle a bit. Very Very talented Vocalist.

just bringing this back from hibernation. Some of the vocalists listed I already know and most aren't what I am looking for. But a few mentioned are very good. I don't care about the christian bands. Heard all of them mentioned and they just don't suit me. Well the guy from old Sacred Warrior was killer. That Die Happy singer is no where near what I want to hear. Thanks for trying though.
If you run across more or happen to have more of these raging vocalists pop into your head, let me know!

Jorn Lande has a pretty kickass roar. Eric Adams from Manowar comes to mind, too. Oh, and Jutta Weinhold from Zed Yago is pretty badass, female or not.

Are you talking Cage/Agent Steel/Helstar type of singers?
Which singer that you already know is closest to what you're after?

Yes Shawn, I am after more of that Cage/Agent Steel/Helstar type of singers. I know all those dudes personally. I'm not a spring chicken to this like most are recommending things here. Not that I don't appreciate it, but most are far from what I am into as far as vocalists. Someone showed me this band Dragonsclaw that kicks my head in earlier this week! Very impressive!
Rob Rock had some cool stuff but not all.
There's this band from Wisconsin called A Tortured Soul that I really like! Amazing 6 octave range on the vocalist!

Brian Allen, who sang on Vicious Rumors' last album Razorback Killers, is insane!! But I'm sure you've heard that...

Yeah Shawn heard it when it was released. Very killer album and one of the best singers in metal right now.
The guy singing for Exciter now days has that similar voice.
I wonder why more people don't sing like this in bands these days. Seems like most singers don't even try.
