I actually gotta get the above one . The case is correct but the disc inside is Ben Harper (majorly boring crap). I waited for two weeks (one week longer than I usually have to wait) for a CD I was heavily anticipating and I got that! Luckily it is from Amazon marketplace so if the people that sold me it don't do anything about it, I'm covered. However, I REALLY wanted the music contained in that CD so I bought a MP3 download of the album for $7 on Amazon. And you and Exact are right, it is an awesome album and I will most definatly seek out more.

They gave me a refund and let me keep the case so I can make a hard copy of my MP3 album and store it in the case.

I have the first two Black Stone Cherry albums, loved their Southern fried rock and need to grab this new one.

Black Spiders I mean to check out, it is another one of those bands that Classic Rock Magazine seem to be championing.

This sleazeroxx review plus the samples on Amazon convinced me to buy it.

Sons Of The North kicks off with "Stay Down", a fuel injected riot of a song and already a live anthem with its "Smurf you and this one horse town" refrain. This Sheffield outfit's humor is worn firmly on its sleeves with "KISS Tried To Kill Me", a song so unbelievably catchy you'll be singing it for months. It nicks every KISS chord progression and lick going and is an absolute hoot.
The Black Spiders have been touring non-stop it seems now for two years, supporting everyone from The Wildhearts, Airbourne, Black Stone Cherry, Supersuckers and the Stone Gods, and are a very slick machine and this shows through on the album. Tight as nun's crotch, and with more swing than Frank Sinatra, they've managed to recreate the feeling of their incredible live performances on record (or CD, or download, or whatever the hell you've managed to steal a copy of).
"What Good's A Rock Without A Roll?" is the album's closing track and again highlights the tongue-in-cheek humor that runs throughout with its Led Zeppelin aping and "Eat Thunder, smurf poo Lightning" bridge.
Heavy and bluesy in places but never losing that rock 'n' roll sensibility, Sons Of The North is a fine debut. I'd even go so far as to say that, along with Black Stone Cherry's Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea, this is probably my album of the year so far. Buy this album and support a band that is definitely going places.

Yea, that's where I caught wind of them too. One of their tunes was on the cd sampler that comes with each issue. Sounds promising, but last time I checked the album was a pricey import, so I held off.

Yeah, it was kinda pricey. 14.97 plus shipping but I've been through hell this week so I figured, screw it.

I'm waiting. I have a feeling this will get some sort of deluxe treatment like the last one did. I think that has some exclusive iTunes/Amazon tracks, too, which is annoying.

Great band, though. I just hate their label.
