In a nutshell... -Westboro protester gets his a$$ kicked. "No one saw who did it" -All vehicles with Kansas license plates mysteriously had pickup trucks blocking them in at their hotels. -Tow truck services were 'running hours behind schedule' -Any protesters that made it out to the funeral were escorted away to answer questions about fight. Questioning took hours.
I'm glad someone put those pious cult nutcases in their place! Go Brandon, Mississippi! I hope other states will take the example. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Westboro "Baptist Church" personally make me sick, I am glad a community took a stand against their hate filled message. | |

| I don't buy into ANYTHING they throw out on the street or condone what they do but they do have a constitutional right to do it. It becomes a very, very slippery slope when what a "right" is or isn't gets to be redifined due to situational ethics.

| I don't think spreading hate is what the message is supposed to be about. I have some pretty radical Baptists in my family too...but nowhere NEAR these nutjobs.

| I agree that those son of b!tches have a right to say what they want but they should excerise one small percent of compassion and common sense, not to mention decency, if they cannot do this, then remove the word Church and any mention of Jesus Christ, because they are not following his teachings or His example. | |

A community gathering together for the good of and to protect one of their own is far from situational ethics to me. These jerks disrupt peaceful family funerals and bring chaos for no other reason than to push their viewpoints on people who never asked them for it. More power to the people of that community for protecting that military family and their right to a peaceful funeral service. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Believe me, I'm all for free speech. But picketing a funeral? C'mon, that's about as vile of a thing as I can think of.

I would disagree with it not being situational ethics - I think what westboro does is terrible but you dont have the right to go smacking the life out of them because you dont like what they are doing. It is easy to turn that around to something else. If they are protesting legally, albeit with poor taste, I dont think they should be beaten. _________________

| Like I said, I do not condone what they do and it's pretty sad that they do what they do in the name of Jesus. I see no love in what they are doing, thus the spirtual truth of reaping what one sows will be their downfall eventually. I also believe they are taking the constitutional right to the extreme, but if you deny that right on the grounds of content in their rhetoric. Well, that opens the door for "anything" to be construed or minconstrued depending on situation or the subjective defintion by the powers that be. The Constitution was pretty simple and straight forward regarding this. _________________ | |

They have a constitutional right to show up... and get their ass kicked.
