Trust me, if I was gonna make stuff up, it'd be something along the lines of "My Wild Night of Passion with '80s Porn Queen Ginger Lynn." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/I-Survived-Camp-Crystal-Lake Dude! That is COOL!!!!! Even cooler, the movie was released 33 years ago this week. Geez, if I'd known that beforehand I would've timed this article to come out on the anniversary date. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I used to see that Predator record in bargain bins all the time and I'd just cackle at how tasteless the cover was. I almost bought it once or twice out of curiosity but never pulled the trigger on it. I guess I didn't want my friends seeing that album cover around my room when they came over Since I was thinking about it while writing this piece, I found a couple of tracks from it on YouTube and gave'em a listen... and woooo, they were pretty horrible. I wasn't missing anything! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Have you ever bought a CD even though you have a feeling you're gonna hate it? That was me when I paid the princely sum of twenty five cents for "Mass Slaughter," a best-of by Slaughter, one of my least favorite hair bands. But I couldn't help myself!! http://hub.me/afyfe _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

http://hub.me/afyfe Trust me, it's the 25 cent price tag talking. I have the first 2 Slaughter albums and while the second one seems to take a stab at trying to be Queen, it fails miserably because Mark's voice just plain sucks. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Mark's voice is lacking in character, completely one-dimensional, and too freaking shrill. The Wild Life has got to be the most difficult and uncomfortable CD I've ever sat through. I love pop metal, but this band was one of the few stinkers. EDIT: Just read your review. Spot on my friend; my sentiments exact throughout. | |

Thanks fellas... I have a feeling that Mark Slaughter's voice was the deal breaker for a lot of people. I know they have a lot of fans but I always thought he was the weak link in the band. I swear he "sings" like he's got something jammed up his nose. - Boris2008 wrote:

I've not seen your other awful covers blogs, but tell me that you found room for this work of art!
Haha, believe it or not, I have cited Raven's "GLOW" in a previous installment, but haven't gotten round to this one yet. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

EDIT: Just read your review. Spot on my friend; my sentiments exact throughout. Yup. Good review. I had their first album too on cassette. Marks voice was the dealbraker for me as well. Never felt the need to upgrade or invest in anymore Slaughter. I did see them in the late 90's at a super small rock club in Philly, The Velvet Lounge (yes, it was a former strip club, now it's a Papa John's Pizza). We went to goof on them, but it turned out to be a decent enough show. I think they were promoting their Revolution album and I can't remember if it was before or after Tim Kelly died. I want to say before. I was probably pretty hammered myself. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| All I know is when Rob Halford was on TMS during the early seasons and answered USA when asked whether that or England had the best metal music I cringed at the Metal God for the first time. | |

| The U.S has more quality metal bands than the U.K by a huge distance. It's just that a lot of the bands that defined the genre are from England, so I think that it at least deserves to be above Japan!!!!! in the Motherland stakes. | |

| Maybe there are places in the world that are exclusively full of metal fans. I haven't been to any of these places. (not even Essen, Germany which comes closest) Fact remains that Birmingham was the predominant influence on the sound of Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Therefore it's place as a mecca of metal is secure and undisputed (apart from you lot!) thejokeriv, you should have travelled a few more miles and gone to Rock City Nottingham, much better! | |

| Yeesh, everybody's gangin' up on me ... lemme 'splain what I meant with that "metal motherland" statement... Boris, I did not intend to slight Birmingham, which is of course the birthplace of our beloved genre. However, nowadays I think most folks would agree that Germany and Japan are where the most devoted fans reside. Lookit all the outdoor metal festivals that are held in Germany every year. Those mofo's are in it for life!! England gave metal life and the U.S. gave it love, but when the music scenes in both of those countries changed and "metal" suddenly became a dirty word during the Grunge Years (aka The Dark Ages), Germany and Japan still supported it through and through. C'mon, how many bands were signing Japan-only record deals in the 1990s because nobody in the rest of the world gave a sh*t about'em? Yngwie Malmsteen was still selling out multiple nights at Budokan when he couldn't get arrested anywhere else. Mr. Big are like the Beatles in Japan. When the f*ck was the last time you heard anything from Mr. Big on your side of the ocean?? Soooo... ya see what I was getting at now? Are you puttin' the torches and pitchforks away? I hope so. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
