Not exactly in music and/or TV, but Carrot Top has made references to Iron Maiden and Dio in his standup act.
(Some of which may or may not have been included in his TV broadcasts, since a lot of comedians do have some of the same jokes repeated in later routines for those unfamiliar with older work.)

In the Netflix movie "Bright," Will Smith's police partner - an "Orc" monster - listens to Cannibal Corpse in their squad car. When Smith objects to the "Orc-ish" music, his partner responds that it's "the greatest love ballad ever composed."

In last night's X Files episode, the Ramones were featured prominently, appearing briefly in concert footage on a TV and their California Sun tune then playing over a shootout.

I've heard several Deep Purple and Ted Nugent tracks in the background during the "Ash vs. Evil Dead" episides I've watched thus far.. I guess Ash digs '70s rock

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Adam Green's "Frozen" has a Twisted Sister shirt-wearing extra in an early scene. Turns out Dee's son was part of the crew and Dee even contributed a voice cameo at one point.

Goldbergs has an episode where Barry and Adam start a band dressing like Twisted Sister and only plays We're not Gonna Take It.

I mentioned this in the Vinnie Vincent thread but he actually got mentioned on a local sports talk show the other day. The show has a guest every know and again named "Rock and Roll Mike" and he usually mentions some '80's music.

The opening scenes of 'Yoga Hosers' is the 2 main characters (the Colleens) playing in their band "GlamThrax" doing their version of 'I'm the Man'. It was kinda cute and fun, but the movie went down hill from there.

I heard Tesla's "Modern Day Cowboy" in the background of a "Supernatural" episode earlier this week.

In the remake of Stephen King's "It," one of the bullies is shown wearing Anthrax and Metallica shirts, and a fight scene is accompanied by Anthrax's "Anti-Social."

Not sure if it was intentional, but the Anthrax shirt the bully is wearing is an "Among the Living" shirt, and as we all know, that song is based off of The Stand.

I would say it was most likely intentional.

Showtime's "Billions" series had the main character wearing a Megadeth tee and used "Peace Sells" twice in the episode. Thought that was cool and pretty unexpected.

Not sure if anyone here watches it, but on this week's episode of 'Silicon Valley', the Napalm Death song 'You Suffer', all 1.36 seconds of, plays a fairly significant (and hilarious) plot point to the show.

Fox News Channel's "The Five" just went to break with At Vance's version of Vivaldi's "Spring":
That's pretty obscure for someone in a "mainstream" news show to be familiar with.

Never underestimate the power of metal heads working behind the scenes in a/v production. Our numbers are strong

It was pretty funny because I literally said out loud "Hey, that's At Vance!"
I bought their Best Of comp specifically so I had all their classical covers. They usually have at least one on every album.

It's a good thing I'm not that into At Vance because I can imagine a few of the the hosts from "The Five" pretty much spoiling any band/song for me.

Caught some more of this show last night and one of the characters quoted David Lee Roth and mentioned VH's "Jump"

For some reason Sebastian Bach is going to be on MLB Central this morning so they just went to break using "I Remember You".

Watching Eddie Money on MLB Central.
It's hilarious. Eddie used to babysit MLBN's Brian Kenny because their dads knew each other from both being on the police force in Long Island.
