Not a movie or TV show, but this turned up unexpectedly in yesterday's Sunday comic strips:
In yesterday's "Sally Forth" , daughter April and her friends are laying around under a tree, day dreaming about what they're going to do with their summer vacation, and April is wearing a BabyMetal tee shirt.
In more surprising news, someone still reads the Sunday comics. And 'Sally Forth', no less.

A few weeks ago, I thought I saw that comedian Chelsea Handler wearing a Judas Priest t-shirt on tv. I also saw someone wearing a Helstar t-shirt on the show Pitbulls And Parolees.

I saw it on the DVDs recently so I'm sure it's been mentioned already but... "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" by The Hold Steady on Game of Thrones .....

I caught 'The Exorcist' on cable a few nights ago and there was a scene when Regan, aka Satan if you please, asks the Father Karras to untie her from the bed. He says "If you're truly Satan then you could certainly free yourself". She replies "That would be a vulgar display of power".
Anyone know if that's where Pantera got the idea for their album title?

Phil A. is a bigtime grindhouse/horror film buff so I'd say that's a pretty sure bet.
I never caught that bit, but then again it's been dog years since I've seen "The Exorcist" ... for all I know, that Pantera album might not have even been out yet the last time I did.

I haven't seen it in probably 20 years either. Still holds up though. Scary as hell. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if that's where Pantera got it from.

Along those same lines, at least once a week the local news here plays Motorhead's "The Game" (Triple H's entrance music in WWE) while showing the previous day's winning lottery numbers.

In 2017's It, there is a scene where a character (one of the bullies) is seen wearing an Anthrax - Among the Living shirt. Later in the movie, the song "Antisocial" is heard.
Given that It is an adaptation a Stephen King novel, I wouldn't doubt it's a nod to how Anthrax have written songs based on Stephen King novels.

The Punisher (new Netflix series) is using Metallica's 'One' in the trailer...
Looks pretty brutal.

About a week before Halloween I was on the computer while my wife was watching a cheap early 80s horror movie called "Incubus" on Amazon Prime. Suddenly I hear "Vice Versa" by Samson, Bruce Dickinson's pre-Maiden band. One of the characters in the movie was in a theater watching a film of the band. That was random.

On last night's episode of "American Housewife", Cherry Pie by Warrant was played. The singer didnt sound like Jani Lane, so it was either a cover version or a rerecording with their current singer (Robert Mason).

Teen Titans GO! did an episode based around heavy metal, 'Throne of Bones'. It was funny as hell and the writers did their homework.
And although not specified, there is no doubt in my mind that Beast Boy's outfit was clearly influenced by Lemmy.

I've been watching the show "GLOW" (loosely based off of the actual Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling tv show) on Netflix. In the fourth episode one of the actresses is wearing a Kiss Creatures of the Night t-shirt.

I was watching a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving last night and ABC was promoting the return of the show Roseanne in 2018. The song playing over the promo? AC/DC's Whole Lotta Rosie.

Seriously? Toyota is using John Cena's entrance music in a commercial. I can't hear that music without hearing the inevitable "John Cena sucks...." that the crowd always sings. Somebody in Toyota's marketing department didn't do their research because it's just as easy to sing "Toyota sucks..." to that song.

I was watching Family Guy tonight, and a preview for the next episode of The Gifted came on during the commercial break. One of the characters is wearing a Slayer shirt.
