1982...the continuing HEAVY METAL ONSLAUGHT!

I went with the Scorpions, "No One Like You" That video was awesome to young man Rudilof all crazy and bashing a guitar to bits. Now it just seems silly like a John Belushi "Animal House" outtake.

JP - a close second......... same thing with the video. Wow! MTV was a force then.

I thought Priest and Accept would give Maiden a run for their money, but not thus far. I pretty much knew that Maiden would win this one.

I went with KISS

Had to vote for Maiden with the Metal Massacre comp a close second.

Went with Maiden for this year. I saw them on this "Beast" tour opening for Scorpions on their "Blackout" tour. Girlschool was the first band on.
Later that year caught Priest on the "Screaming" tour. They had Coney Hatch open for them whose s/t release in 82 is a great listen.
After the afore mentioned bands, my next fave was Restless Breed by Riot. Even with a new singer and all, this album slayed myself and the metal crew I hung with.

Went with Accept, Fast As a Shark was by far one of the fastest, heaviest metal songs to come out by that point and overall that's a great album.

There are so many great albums on this list. But I went with Screaming For Vengeance.

I may be showing my age here, but what the Hell! I was high school from 81 through 85 and it was a great, if not, the best time to be into metal.

I went with Accept, although I was leaning towards Maiden at first. I love that Accept album.

Definitely a hard poll, I almost went with Judas Priest, but in the end my vote is with Iron Maiden.

But of course i dig all of the other releases, especially Priest and scorpion's blackout,.which was one of my first metal albums

What an awesome year of music, one of the "great ones" in hindsight.

I went with The Number Of The Beast, more for personal reasons than anything else. That was the album that finally tipped the scales for me, completely towards metal and away from whatever pop/rock band was popular on the radio at the time.

I could easily have picked many others on the list (especially Screaming & Restless)

oh yeah, and "Long Stick Goes Boom" from One Vice At A Time is easily one of the best AC/DC impersonations ever committed to tape.

Kinda flipped a coin between Maiden or Priest on this one. Maiden wins. Plus, that was the first Maiden album I'd actually heard. My buddy had it on vinyl. Such a cool cover!

I'm a heretic, kind of lost interest in Maiden with NOTB.

More of a DiAnno fan....although Dickenson seems a much more appealing guy.

Same was my case too. But Scorpions and Accept are great albums as well.

Assault Attack this is not part of the polling but was released in 1982 is my favorite Michael Schenker album, and did not realize how many strong albums where released this year

I went with the Scorpions because i love the guitar tone, songwriting and vocals on Blackout a lot.

But Priest and Maiden also rule!

As good as Under the Blade and Screaming for Vengeance are, this one's a no-brainer.
