| Who is your fave? Downing/Tipton in metal and Gorham/Robertson in rock set the standards; but I was always partial to the boogie enthusiasm of Status Quo, or the artfulness of Wishbone Ash (thier Argus album always reminds me of Warlord for some reason). But my absolute favorite is the old kraut band Epitaph. They went from being a prog band to a rock band to a wannabe NWOBHM band; but no matter how the song started out I always knew that they'd eventually hit a groove. Vocalist Cliff Jackson would pick up his guitar, and he and Klaus Walz would start heading due south for about four minutes with their heads down. It's like they couldn't help themselves. Always a fun ride! | |

| Larry Farkas and Doug Thieme were a GREAT duo. Can't believe I forgot about them. Doug was the riff writer, Larry the shredder. It's a shame that Larry has left Once Dead before the album was released. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| This just in. I got an E-mail from CD Baby saying that the band "Ultra" is back in stock. For those who don't recall, this is the 70's texas band that bills themselves as have "Dueling Nugents" on twin leads (guitars or rifles?) | |

| An update on the "Ultra" CD I posted about. It does feature nice twin guitar, but I wouldn't recommend it to Thin Lizzy or Nuge fans as much as I would Blackfoot or Molly Hachett fans. It's a lot like Hydra actually, if anybody knows them. | |

| Obviously, given my screen name, for me it's Ken and Glenn. Downing and Tipton if you will. P.s.: It's not a typo, his real name is Ken Downing, he got the name KK from a girl he used to shag. Oh behave! | |

| Last Crack's Paul Schluter and Don Bakken have an awesome 2 guitar attack on the Burning Time album. They play opposing things, but together it works so well. |
